I think thats the voice of rationality that goes on auto pilot in many peoples minds. It goes back and forth arguing. In many people it is fairly illogical and will think self destructive thoughts. it makes some people go fucking crazy!!!!!! Shut up this voice in my head!!!!! Why won't it stop!!!!!
I guess he wants a voice of comfort in his head
Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake

I can understand that it's nice to have a comforting voice telling you things you want or need to hear, but we are in complete control of our minds whether you know it or not. I think you are right in that in many people our minds will go back and forth on a subject never really getting anywhere possibly making us go crazy until we just drop it. That is why it takes practice to do it correctly. Our minds are a muscle just like anything else. To be able to think is a skill that one must tune to their own needs. Again having someone else do the work for you is the easy way out.

Socrates had a voice in his head. However, it never told him to do anything--it did forbid him from certain actions. Why it did was up to him to figure out. The ability to tell you everything you should be doing is there, I would call it telepathy. But let us examine the meaning of such an action.
The human mind has a function to perform--the acquisition of experience in order to craft one's responses so that one might have life and have it more abundantly. Now let us suppose that what ever it is that can speak to man telepathically decided it was a good thing to start telling man what to do. This would circumvent the purpose of the individual mind--it is in fact a form of murder.

This is exactly what man asks what he calls god to do, tell him what to do, what is right what is wrong--to circumvent man's own purpose and function. Man is asking to die. That is how stupid the desire is. It is the worship of death.

When I was learning, and could see things to come, I had the good sense to see that it was not my own vision. I had the good sense to see the implications. That is why I let the practice go.

This is also why the vision is not stable nor provable--because there isi no desire to kill man--not because this superintelligence does not exist. There are vastly more intelligent life forms in the universe, but to demand that they think in accordance with our stupidity is, as it should be, rather childish.

I think that's ridiculous. Making up different personalities in your own head is still doing the work yourself. It's not as if there's actually someone else
in your head doing the thinking for you.

We ALL have voices in our heads. If you talk to yourself sometimes, then you have voices in your head.

The difference between schizophrenics and non-schizophrenics is that schizophrenics don't have a good way to tell the difference between what came from external sources and what came from internal sources. Kinda like dreaming non-lucidly, I guess.

Right talking to yourself would be doing the work yourself, but it sounds like MIIISTERNEUGIT wanted a voice from an outside source. Someone to have a different point of view without knowing what it is before they talk.

Oh well yeah then you would probably have to take Invader's advice.

But I get what you're saying. The reason we talk to people is to get different viewpoints.
Of course people have fubar'd the shit out of it and abuse it for gossip and whatnot.
But the primary reason for speech is to get other's points of view.
Of course it started out being used for combat etc. but the fundamental elements of getting another person's ideas on a subject are evident in science and business and figuring out any problems you have in your life.
