And this is the time of the year when guys in my country started going mad when I made a casual statement saying that "Girls have the rights to be temperamental". Tell me guys, does that sound that bad or they are overreacting? And all the reasoning about getting away with things that was done, guys have to be magnanimous started coming out as reasons why we can't.

What I merely meant was we can go into an outburst without any explainable reasons and we don't have to hide it. Guess "rights" was a bad usage of word.

I'm very pissed off now. My mood wasn't stabilised in the first place and I was finally happy. Then a guy comes out to me confronting me and saying I have a low level of intellect because I made that statement which leads to a long debate session. Calling me childish and dragging my sexuality into the discussion, what's the problem with him???

This page of the thread really cracked me up. Laughted for quite long time.

Seems like girls and words don't mingle together very easily. Something 'bout the moon maybe? I'm not going to go to any gender based thinking, but it I would like to say that if you are feministic or beoyndgenderperson who happens to be a girl you should work trhough the fact that you're also a girl. Maybe it's just boilogical thing or tied with identity reflections (mirrors reflect who you as well as some people see you as they see you)

God, My brother is having a party (everyone of his friends adores me though xD), and they wanted to see how good Dark Souls was (most of em have played it, but a lot haven't). They admire the difficulty and whatnot... but all they did was compare it to Skyrim. GOD, DARK SOULS is NOT SKYRIM! STOP COMPARING THEM! Dark Souls is good for different reasons . At least by the end of my little demo they all loved Dark Souls ;D But during my playing, they were all like "Hmm, Skyrim is so much better, world is bigger and shit" and "Skyrim is brighter". Like, if you like Skyrim better ok, makes sense, but don't just go on autopilot and bash Dark Souls because its not Skyrim.

My god... skyrim is SOOOOOOO much better than Pong. For one. MUCH bigger. And there are more than colours. Don't even get me started on the graphics!

It's a great game. I enjoy it very very much. I'm 60 hours in and still having an outstanding time. Doesn't mean it compares well with everything ever made ever...

Maybe they should be comparing it to Oblivion, and Oblivion to Morrowind? Seems like there is a good common ground there...

ok, maybe I worded my post very wrongly. They were hating on Dark Souls for like 5 minutes and it was extremely irritating... And it was for the stupidest things as well. Then they saw a boss which 2 shotted me and they were like SHIT JUST GOT REAL since my HP bar goes 3 quarters of the screen and it shocked them to see such a big chunk gone.

And then I showed them some other bosses and they changed their mind a bit.

Oh, I gotcha now. It's still the Skyrim Honeymoon period... most people will get over it soon but some of us, we will not stop playing forever and eternity... just like Oblivion >.< IT JUST KEEPS GOING ON AND ON AND ON!

I feel the same way about Dark Souls <3

I love how I spent the last 20 2 minutes pretending I was doing a speedrun of a video game in real life. I took the shortcuts and started dashing for stuff. (like running and turning off the light switch without slowing down and turning them back on without looking).

My Dad just finished asking me a couple "subtle" questions which was his attempt at some sort of interrogation. He thinks I'm on coke... because my nose is red (because of allergies) and I was a little more energetic today than usual. >_>

I'll probably laugh about it later, it's just the way he asked that's got me pissed.

My Dad called me on the phone and told me that I HAVE to go see "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" in theaters because the main girl, Rooney Mara, looks exactly like me and could be my twin, he says. I thought about the fact that she's naked in the film, which was kind of disturbing... so WHY did I tell him that thought? WHY did I put it out there and embarrass both of us? I just made it a lot worse, didn't I... [/facepalm]

I'm gonna have to overrule this one. Solarflare is right - lately I've been seeing this thread get flooded daily with a lot of posts that don't belong here.

When Rant and Rave is used together as a phrase, it has a specific meaning: "If you say that someone rants and raves, you mean that they talk loudly and angrily in an uncontrolled way." (Source: rant and rave definition | English dictionary for learners | Reverso Collins)

So it has a definite connotation of anger with it, not just random insane talk. That's definitely the purpose Gavin intended when he created the thread. It's for people to vent when something pisses them off, and he added as an afterthought that you can also post here if you're really happy about something. We now have the "Post if you're Happy or Cheerful" thread for that though, and clearly until recently this thread was used specifically for when people are angry and need to vent.

A lot of the conversations happening recently here belong more in Senseless Banter or maybe IRC or PM.

Please people - let's use this thread for its original purpose. It's fine to come in and comfort somebody who's feeling down, but let's not get involved in long rambling conversations in here ok?

Yeah, I agree with dark. About 4 people have been conversing in this thread about regular stuff. Add one another to an instant messaging system if you want to do that. A few conversation posts that are off-topic are okay, but pages and pages is kind of ridiculous. There have been so many posts on here lately, I've stopped bothering to read them. I used to love this thread, now it's gone to hell.
