Ha, I got it to work. Yeah, this isn't a complaint. What're you gonna do, cry about it?

Rant: I'm a terrible gift receiver. I don't know what awful gift-related tragedy happened in my childhood to make me this way, because there are plenty of forms of attention I can take, but I can NOT open gifts in front of people (well). It's like my brain comes to a screeching halt. No thought processing, no emotions, nothing, and then I just end up awkwardly saying thanks without really any expressing anything and I feel weird, but then when I'm alone it all floods in and I'm really happy. And then the next time I see them I'll say as much too, and it's not even that I've just thought of how to say it by then, it's just suddenly easy the next time, just not when I'm getting the gift. It's so annoying....

Anti-Rant: My friend just got back from a trip to Mexico and she got me this awesome sweater/shirt. It's really loose-fitting and comfy and feels like a blanket, and it's got a front pouch that's actually huge and serves as a quite functional pocket as well. It's great.

Rant: I had more things to rant about, but I forget what they are now. >_> Oh well.

      Also,

That is EXACTLY what happens to me. It's also like my mouth can't form the proper "smile" expression, so I just look generally unthankful and awkward, even when I am super happy. It's just like "Uh. Thanks..."

For my rant, my wisdom teeth are hurting again. The little bastards decide not to grow in until a good five to ten years after everyone elses, and conveniently after I have gotten off my parents' awesome health insurance and onto this crappy state insurance. Because we don't have much money, I probably won't be able to get them out. Whatever.

Anti-rant, my in-laws gave me a Bamboo Create tablet for Christmas I just need to practice drawing now, I've adjusted to looking at the screen and moving around really easily and quickly.

Awesome! I have one too, and I love it! I bought the screen protector on amazon, and it prevents the likelihood of the nib from the pen from scratching.

I'm glad you got it for Christmas! Lucky

No, obviously there are some people who have legitimate psychological illnesses and ignoring them is irresponsible.

There's a guy who posts in the Extended Discussion section sometimes who clearly has some kind of schizophrenic illness. Every time he posted I told him that he should seek help. He recently said he's started seeing a psychiatrist, which is a big relief. I don't know if I had any effect, but ignoring him or treating him like a humorous eccentric would be childish and wrong.

If you want to offend people you can on these forums and any forums for that matter.

See people need to learn how to insult each other without being belligerent. If someone says something stupid drown him in facts about how he is wrong and point out all of his errors. This will in turn embarrass him or he will get defensive and get "offended"

Really what is getting offended anyway? If someone says to me, "I'm offended," is that a statement? Does it contribute anything to resolve any problems? Really its just whining that one is in disapproval of what the other is saying, but then again why do you even need said persons approval? The answer is you don't, next time someone or anyone ever tells you, "I'm offended," simply respond with, "I don't care"

I hate it when I'm watching superheroes fight the villains, and when they give them a nice punch in the face, they STAND THERE, look at them fall, and then are completely oblivious from other enemies possibly aiming to hit them when they're not looking.

It's happening too much, and most of the time, I'm like..."DON'T FREAKING STAND THERE AND WATCH! BE ALERT!"

"POW" A hook to the jaw.

Oh my god, you have super powers, but your level of knowing that there are other people around out to fight you continues to confuse me. Sure, it adds suspense, but when you do the same oblivious stunt twice in succession, it just makes me sting when I see them get hit out of being a Herp Derp.

      This is a perfect example:

My life is so fucking weird sometimes. I can't help but feel that all of it might come crashing down, everything that I'm so happy about feels so fragile and like it's surrounded in millions of little conflicts. Fucking weird conflicts.

On top of a fucking weird life, I've still got this huge assignment hanging over me. It is deudly important. If I don't finish it or if I fail, I'll have to re-do the whole year. We've had since the 6th of December to do it, deadline is the 20th. At least 15 pages. I've got 13 pages that I think are really weak. I need to understand exactly how the astronomical unit is derived, and by extension how the equatorial coordinate system works. I've got several documents full of explain but my brain is full of inept.

I'm die. But still; anticrastinate mode, go!

Yep, that's dead on! It's kind of depressing, especially when other people get so emotional. >_>

That sucks about your wisdom teeth. But congrats on the tablet. I got myself one with some holiday money a while back, they're definitely fun to play around with!

Well so according to the doctors, I'm medically healthy. But my stomach still hurts. So they gave me pills against stress. Because they assume it's stress. And these pills are making me so sleepy omg. It's making me even more tired. I've got my last exam tomorrow but I can use my book. So I don't have to study alot right now which is good. But yeah, I'm so tired. These pills I'm taking are also for dizziness, depression and some more diseases. I forgot the name though. So tomorrow I've got school the entire day. Wednesday, I got work. On tuesday, it's going to rain all day so no work probably. And friday we only gotta work in the morning from 8-12 which is awesome. AND THEN TWO WEEKS HOLIDAY WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Okay so I finally understand the equatorial coordinate system. I was having trouble comprehending the meaning of the ecliptic and the vernal equinox. But now I finally had it rammed into my head.
Ha ha, get it? Rammed? Because the point where the two align is denoted by ♈? Okay whatever.

      A funny thing I found while reading about meridians and sidereal time and who knows what;
      The Royal Greenwich observatory has a cool little feature;

A friggin laser beam that marks the prime meridian.

      But wait...

It looks like the laser is coming from that large building? Didn't I just see it coming from that tiny old fashioned observatory?

      Oh.

I'm actually interested in this but it appears that nobody on the internet has written anything about it. Surely someone has noticed that a really powerful laser has been shining on the side of their building? The laser has been there since 1999, and the only mention of buildings being focus-fired by Royal space laser beams is this blog post from 2007. I wonder what became of it?

Holy shit.... ok fuck this forum....
      Are you fucking kidding me?
A certain member herself liked a certain post I made, as I clarified what I was saying.
And a certain mod takes it upon herself to remove my post and give me a warning?

A certain post which was clearly not disrespectful even to the certain member it was about, and which was even said to me by that certain member in a PM, gets deleted.
And I cannot mention this certain member by name now.

Fuck this shit, I don't even care if I get banned at this point. The new mods have no fucking idea how to actually moderate this forum.
This shit never used to happen. Use some god damned common sense.

Oh and btw, mod who will not be named, several other people here "liked" that post. The very people I was just complaining about that do not like to offend anybody.
Maybe you should take that as a hint that it wasn't offensive to anybody????

And apparently "I don't care for (a certain member)". I'm pretty certain that if you check back to when she first came here, you will see I got along with her perfectly.
Ok I might be thinking of someone else there, but I don't think so. Point is, I have nothing against a certain member.

I'm trying to leave to go to school and I step in my dog's crap. I look for my old shoes, apparently someone decided they were garbage. Then I'm trying to clean them so I don't go to school with crap on my shoes and my pants get caught on a door and rip. Am I not supposed to go to school today?

I'm worried about school right now, especially Friday. People are talking about someone bringing a gun to school on the 21st. I doubt it will happen, but after last Friday it really scares me. My parents said I don't have to go that day because of it. I can't miss too much school, but I don't want to die. I really don't think anything will happen, but there are crazy people.

I know I sound uber paranoid, but I'm still seeing strange cars park on the side of the road and just wait there. No one enters, no one exits - the people inside (when I can see them) just sit there rarely speaking. Or well they do speak but it's not like a "normal" conversation - they're always somber/serious looking. That typical "down to business" expression, if that makes any sense.

My neighbor's dog has also been barking on a few recent nights. In the past 15 years I've been living here, it's never barked at night except to alert it's owner when it hears a noise or smells something. The skunk we used to get around here stopped coming months ago, but the dog still barks on occasion. I know that sounds like normal dog behavior but this dog rarely ever makes noise, not even in the day time while it's playing. For it to bark loudly, especially at night, is incredibly rare. I know it's happy yelps from it's angry barks, but when it starts yapping on these nights, it's more of a nervous/concerned/desperate/alarmed sort of barking that doesn't let up until the owner comes out to have a look.

I thought I was being paranoid until my Mom, Dad, sister, and brother-in-law (sister and her husband rent out the basement suite) started making the same observations. My Mom noticed it first, and then my Dad mentioned it a few days too. My sister and her husband asked if we noticed it just yesterday (the first time we all talked about it together).

The same car passed through my neighborhood 4 times (kept count) today. And when I stepped out for a walk today, a car that had been parked a few houses down started up and slowly drove away as it passed me. Probably my mind playing tricks on me, but I decided to go back inside anyway.

And again, I realize this makes me sound like a delusional fool, but idk... It's certainly strange. =/

@tommo: I must agree, I was wondering what happened to that post. (It disappeared as I was trying to like it. Cue much confusion after a box popped up saying "Access Denied".) Especially after she liked it, I thought it was pretty harmless.

@Woodstock: I wouldn't go to school if those things happened. And if you're worried about going on Friday, just don't go. Your parents gave you permission. You can always make it up later, and I mean it most likely won't happen, but if you think it might then would you rather risk your life or make up a day of school?

@Gavin: That is bizarre. Have you or your neighbors done something to piss off the government or some kind of crime syndicate?

      -----

My rant is that my drug thoughts are drifting. They're not really about psychedelics anymore, at least not significantly more than any other type of drug. I guess it's just because I'm used to knowing that I have no plans to trip in the foreseeable future now, but it's still kind of saddening. I suppose my time with them has just passed, because there's no reason to trip if I don't even feel the pull to anymore. The annoying part is that now I've been spending my days thinking largely about stimulants and empathogens. Things that are heavy on the serotonin side (like MDMA) aren't so bad, but overall it's still not a category I'd prefer to focus on. I guess in a way it's kind of good, because to me psychedelics were often a way to escape reality and this new shift would kind of imply that now I'm more interested in ways to enhance reality, but it's still not the best way to do it. The down side is that psychedelics were "addictive" to me in the sense that I really enjoyed them and had a strong desire to escape, but stimulants were addictive to me in the sense that... well, they're addictive. I can think about psychedelics forever without actually feeling strongly compelled to go back to them, but thinking about stimulants gives me more of that compulsive attitude and the attraction to them is kind of self-sustaining. It's probably best I try to move on to the next big thing before I make some unwise decisions.

On a related note, I've been looking at some of the lesser known research chemicals (including ones that are legitimately just used for research), and I'll bet methylnaphthidate could make for a pretty cool experience. That's a direct analogue of methylphenidate, or Ritalin, which I always found to be a euphoric, focused high. And the main difference (as far as I can tell) is that methylnaphthidate has serotonin reuptake inhibition properties as well, which methylphenidate lacks. On its own that doesn't mean much, but when combined with dopamine reuptake inhibition it seems to play a bigger role and generate more powerful responses, a la cocaine. I wouldn't be surprised if this was related to the shift in 5-HT2A/5-HT2C activity that I mentioned with phenethylamine a while back. I'm pretty sure that serotonin on its own would create rewarding effects mostly through 5-HT1A, which is why SSRIs have a lag because they first need to desensitize 5-HT1A autoreceptors that lower serotonin levels and balance it out, but with this bonus they should be more rewarding, and cocaine definitely has a serotonergic component. Just a thought. Too bad (or good) that even these chemicals, like so many other delicious-looking molecules, are so difficult to obtain.

By the way, I'm about to pass up a chance to get a huge amount of DMT for free. It's almost painful to think about.

My last complaint is that sometimes my desires are just weird. I had this dream last night where I was taken from a fantasy-style palace to work under this evil tyrant kind of guy along with several other people who were all basically just working for this guy to stay alive by being on the strongest fighting force in the land (as opposed to because they really wanted to work for him or something), and at the bake sale we were hosting (yes) the toughest guy on the team pissed off the boss and the boss's chest expanded and opened up to become this huge demon mouth that ate the guy whole as punishment. This was my first display of what being on this team really meant, and I was immediately struck with a sense of fear... and I was also a good deal turned on. >_> I get the whole vore attraction, but seriously. I thought it was real and I still found it enticing. I know it's a dream, but... still lol.

      lol, unlikely

Most of the people in this neighborhood are fairly high up there in their years and I can't see any of them doing anything out of the ordinary. I haven't done anything either aside from making a few pro-revolution and anti-Harper gov't posts on a few forums but that can't possibly...

The Canadian Prime Minister's an overeager George Bush wannabe, and the ''Public Safety'' Minister is even worse. I wouldn't put it passed his administration to implement some sort of overzealous monitoring initiative. Not saying they did, but they are crazy enough to do so... .____o

And once again, your drug discussions go right over my head so I won't comment. Maybe I should have paid attention in bio and chem in high school. .-.

Well, without risking furthering your possible paranoia.... no, that doesn't sound paranoid to me at all, from what you've said.

Granted, I've been paranoid of similar things which I was CONVINCED were actually real. But turned out to be nothing.

That said, I think dogs really have some sort of sense we don't have with regards to weird things.
Does it bark when the people are there? or just seemingly randomly?
Have you checked on the dog? Just over the fence or something?
Maybe when it's barking you can go and look, it might be looking at something or barking in a certain direction.

Maybe you should get one of those antenna things that amplifies the sounds wherever you're directing it so you can hear what the people are talking about in the car?
You can get them at spy shops or online, and they actually work, not just a toy.

When you said you used to get skunk around there, I though you meant weed.
So I was thinking maybe a drug dealer was being spied on. I think you meant the animal skunk though lol

Thankyou! Wasn't sure whether I was being stupid or not.

With that methylnapthidate, is that a new drug? Or has it been tested for a while?
Coz you may be able to get it once it becomes available I guess. Of course, the Chinese companies will probably catch on pretty soon too, so it may not even take that long.

I was watching abc's Good America news, and they had a segment where a professional with psychology of killers and such comes in and was actually going to offer some advice to prevent things like the child killing from happening.

Things were common sense, but that's what most people in communities like where the killing occurred need.

Here's the part that pissed me off, not only did the anchorman tell the expert that they don't have much airing time for this, the guy who was explaining things was CUT off just like that, just so the weatherman can talk about the weather.

No, SCREW the weather, TALK about how people can start using their damn brains and help their community out for a moment. We can see what the weather is at any given freaking time.

The guy who gets cut off could only put on a smile to prevent himself from looking stupid.

They don't have time for someone to explain a practical ideology to put into place, but they do have time to start giggling with the weatherman.

I guess "nobody got time fo dat" with actually helping people, but instead, they get the fucking weatherman.

Man, I swear......I hope someone catches on this (the news segment) and posts it on the internet to make the media look like the idiots they truly are.....yeah that's going to solve my problems....

Also, I miss a few people who would post amazing dream journal entries, especially Hyu. That dude was an inspiration. I look at my dream recall, and then his, and I'm motivated to keep pushing forward.

I swear, I wish his entries could turn into novels he can actually sell. His mind is definitely something valuable and amazing. I can read his entries, dissociate myself from reality, and go into his dreams and enjoy it.

      *sigh*

And I made a C in History, so I guess I'll be typing up an appeal letter, and hope they understand my situation.

It's behind our house, not beside, so it doesn't notice the cars when they pass by on the road. The dog only barks at night so, as silly as it may be, I'm hesitant when it comes to actually going out to look. I usually watch from the window though, our house is on slightly higher ground than theirs so I can peer into their backyard as well as their sundeck.

I don't think it has anything to do with drugs btw. One of my neighbors used to blaze but he quit this past summer. I haven't smoked in months either, I switched to edibles. I make this peanut butter now and this stuff's wild, one spoonful lasts me several days (usually three or four). The high sort of hits me in waves - I'll feel it for an hour or so, it'll wear off for a while, then come back stronger, wear off, rinse and repeat with varying lengths of time. Idk why this batch seems to do that but I'm not complaining, it's saving me a lot of money and it just keeps on getting stronger as times goes on (I made jarful of this stuff).

Anyway, I think I might look into that spy thing; mainly for curiosity's sake. Hopefully I can find an inexpensive one.

I'm done with my last exam for the semester and the auto-save feature just saved a longish post from oblivion. Yay.

(Now you may wonder why this is in rant, rave, cry and complain, and not happy, happy. Well, beats me)

Isn't it obvious? RRCC is THE best thread around, whether happy or absolutely miserable (and every emotion in between) lol.
      Grats!
And Grats to you too Link and Maeni.

To everyone else. And I'd definitely stay home, Woodstock! And sorry about your crappy day (I couldn't help myself )

My rant is that I'm hungry. I spent $50. on friggin WoW games and >insert ginormous angry face< I really wish I hadn't. I no longer have the original, so I bought the $20. 3 pack which comes with a free month. But I had already installed the free trial which I guess amounts to the same thing as having the friggin game. I then went to the battlenet site and registered the key for Cataclysm ($30.) Under my Xyleisha account.
So I uninstalled the trial, installed the disks from the 3 game set. It wouldn't let me apply the game to my original account though, so now I have 1 month of play time on the new account... but not the expansion.
WHICH, by the way, it doesn't seem you need either because it's uploaded when the game checks for updates.
So, why the heck did I spend friggin $50. I despise the way Blizzard uses their registration/product codes. Perhaps it's better now. But in 2009, if I installed the game and my computer died the next day, I would have to buy a new copy of the game for the new registration/product code.

Regardless, I've been playing the heck out of that game lol. I still love the actual game but I think I still prefer EQ2. I'm playing a werewolf type character which is great
My son, however, is a major WoW addict and I wont let him on my computer at all except for when I'm sleeping lol.... and I USED to be able to sleep through "wars", but not anymore. He's royally disturbing my sleep but I refuse to share my machine any other time I'll adapt.
But I'm hungry. Couldn't buy the game PLUS food PLUS smokes, PLUS the meds I need to pick up today... so food was cut. Not completely, of course, but it's mostly Ramen lol

My oldest daughter had Court yesterday. It was supposed to start at 3:15. I arrived at EXACTLY 3:15 and the meeting was almost over. What the friggin heck. Don't give me a SPECIFIC time and then bump it earlier and look at me with disdain because I'm late That plunged me into a short but powerful depression. I couldn't even grab a sandwich with my daughter AND the foster family afterward because it hadn't been okayed by the State.
Give me a friggin break. So then I felt like an idiot AND the worlds worst mom. My eyes welled up with tears. My daughter could see I was upset and told me it was all good, but GAH! Maybe a couple tears actually escaped as I drove home but my eyes were so red and puffy it looked like I had been crying for hours.
So then, I actually considered bonking my head against the side of the car and giving myself a welt to cover up the fact I was sad when I went inside and saw my son. And that thought made me laugh Which helped break the downward spiral. Seriously? "I'm not crying, I got something in my eye." "I'm not sad, I hit my head and BOY did that sting!" Don't men, stereotypically do those things lol

I have to take my oldest boy to probation in about 30 minutes. I'll grab something to munch on (and my meds) then.

I've not been remembering my dreams. My sleep has been too disturbed. But the other day, as I was sleeping, I heard it raining outside. But it was so faint, I wasn't sure if it actually was raining or not, so I focused my hearing... and the tinnitus began to roar. I thought "Well, I guess I'm useless for guard duty now." I don't know what the dream was about, but that thought made me wonder.

Oh yeah, Gavin.... just because you live in a nice neighborhood made up of older people doesn't mean crime isn't afoot. Perhaps you have some white collar criminal who's being monitored.
