I think Zooey is prettier than Katy, mostly because I like people who look more naturally pretty than made-up pretty.

That's why I don't really like Megan Fox and Kim Kardashian. Megan was gorgeous before she had the surgery and now I look at her and just see a nose job and botox. With Kim, I just see heavy dark make-up and gooey lip gloss.

Scarlett looked better before she lost weight! Bloody Gwyneth Paltrow and her tracy anderson bullshit. She should gain it back.

Always thought Emma Watson is stunning.

As somebody who knows a bit about photography, I can tell you that anybody who has their photo taken in a setting like that would look ugly. The bad colours, direct light from a weak flash, lying in a bed and probably just woken up from sleeping.

To me they look pasted on. Mostly when they have the middle edges really straight. But you see it so often.

I don't like makeup. And I don't know if it's just where I live or if it happens everywhere, but the women here feel the need to cover themselves in fake tan before they go for a night out. It really bothers them when they don't have a tan and they refuse to go out without it. I think it looks horrible. And I really don't understand why they do it in the first place. Everyone knows it's fake. This is Scotland. Very few people actually have a real tan. Why are they so scared of their natural skin tone?

I know what you mean! Everyone I know is naturally pale, and it's not like we get the weather for tans, although personally I tan really easily. But god when you're walking down the street and see all these girls who look like traffic cones... I wonder what they think they see in the mirror?

Apparently in Scandinavian countries, especially Iceland, they used to have the lowest rate of skin cancer of any country, then suddenly they all started using tanning beds. The rate of skin cancer jumped up 70% in 10 years or something.

I don't get it. Pale skin, blonde hair, blue eyes. That's their appeal, it's what people visit those countries for lol

I think pale skin is nicer. I've got naturally warm skin, and have spent about a year religiously applying factor 50 suncream and staying in the shade. Eventually I got quite white, and then the other day I was out in the sun and noticed my arms are going golden-y again. Gah!

I'm not a fan of peroxide blonde either. The really white blonde. Especially on girls who fake tan... Orange skin and white hair isn't good.

Actually, you know what? Just anything fake is horrible. Fake nails, fake eyelashes, fake hair, fake tan, fake eye colour, surgery, contouring... just makes you look fake. I applaud guys for being able to live without all that shit and go out looking like themselves.

amen to this xD here, everyone feels they need to be tan, covered in 8lbs on makeup, dress with no clothes on, etc. just to look attractive...
I always get made fun of anytime i go to the pool, because I am so pale, I'm literally like a ghost (my legs at least) and I don't get tan, I just get sunburnt, I do know some people with actual tans, but I don't think laying out for 6hrs covered in tanning oil is really necessary, why do people think the tanner the better? and if you're pale, you're ugly?

I don't like a lot of makeup or fake tans either. My hubby is a makeup kind of guy though, so I always put some on when I'm with him "You look so pretty with your makeup on today." Grrrrr lol He also hates my bandanna (which, when I have hair, I wear ALL the time, because I can't stand my hair getting in my face). I'm naturally pretty pale but I love it. I have some minor melatonin disorder or something because whenever I'm out in the sun and start to tan, I get several various-sized "freckles" that are white. Then I get some that are so dark they look like "angel kisses"
My hubby also likes it when I dye my hair reddish brown (which is its shade when I'm outside a lot), but I've stopped. I'm getting lots of gray hair and I love it I've always wanted gray streaks in my hair.
But I really love my eyebrows. I have a natural arch. I've never understood people needing to pluck. Though now that I'm getting older, some random hairs want to sprout toward the bridge of my nose. If it gets too noticeable, I will pluck those.

One of my half-sisters used to make me laugh because she would dye her hair blonde so people wouldn't think she dyed it. Her hair is naturally so blonde it's almost white.

Well, just as I predicted, there's a marked difference between the guy pics thread and the girl pics thread- and it's more than just the gender. The girls here are all intimidatingly perfect, skinny, gorgeous and usually quite voluptuous. There's very little variation in what's deemed attractive. The guys thread ranges from fairly hot to okay, to so ugly that I have NO idea why the poster could even be attracted to them. Yet again perpetuating the uncomfortable idea that men can be loved no matter what they look like, but women can't be loved unless they're physical goddesses. No wonder women are less happy than men.

You know I hate those holier-than-thou judgmental macros, because I know I'm being criticized, but I haven't the faintest clue as to WHY, and what I'm supposed to be learning. No one gains from it (except maybe for the accuser's sense of self satisfaction). Yes, girls are posting pics here, but that still doesn't negate what I said. Give me at least some respect after the time I put into what I wrote and tell me WHY I'm supposedly wrong and stupid.

aren't there plenty of "perfects" in the male thread as well? I doubt many men can ever be as studly/rugged as Jake G (or myself,) and you will never be as large-titted as Katy Perry.

and it's not about expectations, it's about attractiveness. for whatever deep-seated reason that's been ingrained into some, they find some people attractive. I don't have the explanations for it, and we certainly can't blame them for being attracted to the attributes that they are attracted to.

of course we're not insulting women that don't look like katy perry. of course there's going to be nit-picking over the dumbest things in this thread.
but it doesn't matter. no one in this thread thinks that anyone that's not at least as hot as katy perry is unattractive.

Yes, which is why I mentioned they ranged from "fairly hot" to ugly. The difference is that a range exists.

Those girls are hardly imperfect (especially the first couple and the last). They're not out of place in this thread at all.

These women are what I find truly imperfect but still attractive in some way.
