Thread: How happy are you? 1-10

On a scale of 1-10, how happy are you in general?

1 - writing a f***ing 5,000 word essay.

Haha remember happy in general, not at this specific moment.

I chose 6. I'm not even sure if it's accurate though. I have some worries about my future that can get me down at times and my current situation can be quite stressful, but overall I have a good life and don't have much to complain about. So in general, I would say I'm quite happy.

It would be good to have a bit more information about the scale, I find. Like how happy is a 10? "Forever in a blissful state"? And how unhappy is 1? "Life sucks", or "Please get me out of this living hell"? And where on the scale would the "average person" be?

Its pretty much well known that 1 usually represents the worst and 10 represents the best on any 1-10 scale.

Without more carefully defining what constitutes "the worst" and what constitutes "the best", people will choose arbitrary values and the whole thing pretty much becomes meaningless as a gauge of Dreamview's overall happiness. Judging from current replies, you'd think that 35 % of us had been given an early admittance to heaven.

I'm a 5. I'm almost always a 5, lol. I almost never reach as high as 8 but I've been known to slip somewhat easily into 0 (2 being most common for the low end though).

On any given day, I usually fluctuate between 4-6.

I chose 8. I have an anxiety disorder, but often I'm anxious about good things, too. I'm alive, I live in a good place, I don't have much outstanding debt, I'm doing well in school. I'm optimistic, too.

Right now I'm probably a 4, but overall I'd say 7 or 8.

I've been a nine for the past few months, but I think I usually hover around 8. I'm pretty consistently in the 7-9 range. Dream Views probably bumped me from an 8.5 to a 9 though! And the fact that my college's term still hasn't started. Interesting that nobody chose 10... I guess everybody always thinks their life can get better.

I'm a 4 I guess... Although I'm acting like a 10.

Wow, way to go! That is impressive.

9/10 for me. Just found out I was captain on my football team and overall things are going great. Plus every five or six days now I am able to lucid so I'm happy about that

Happiness is such a vague term...

Is the thread referring to contentment or joy? I consider them two entirely different things. Most of the time I'd say my contentment is around an 8 or even 9 - even when things aren't going well for me. I have a very philosophical way of looking at things, and I accept that what I can't change I can't change, and I refuse to let things I have no control over make me depressed.

But I'm generally not bubbling over with joy or giggling uncontrollably. So on the joy scale I'd have to say more like a 4.

I fluctuate between -10 and 0. Oh and this thread is fucking stupid.
