It might have something to do with majority male population here living in countries where they are violated as a baby.

Just out of interest I conducted a survey via facebook. Here are the results of my friends ( 95% are Finnish ergo North European )

65 female answers total.
Only 8 had ever had sex with a man who was cut.
5 of them answered that they prefer uncut and 2 did not have opinion about it. The one women said cut looks way better, but feels worse inside.

Of the remaining 57 women only 5 said that they like the appearance of cut penis more. 6 did not have an opinion to the either side. The majority of the remaining people find child circumcision more or less odd ( or with words of certain individuals : horrible )

Of course you'd get those results from Northern Europe. In America, practically all women say they prefer cut, because cut is the norm in the US, and in comparison to the norm, uncut looks like a dirty alien monster.

Naturally. And for most of the other people in western world it looks idiotic as cut and usually only seen in porn movies. It somehow isn't as real as natural penis. Just something out of porno movies since people don't face them that much. I have never seen even one in here.

But I don't think the main issue is the appereance, it is the feeling difference between them. I personallyl love the feeling when the foreskin rubs my dick. For me, the knob is just too sensitive and feels uncomfortable. Besides, isn't it hard to wank without your foreskin? You are just rubbing your dick with your hand? This thread is great because it brings cultural insight about something that people don't seem to talk much about and therefore are unfamiliar with. If you're an American, you probably assume that the whole world is circumcised. It's strange to find an uncircumcised penis in America. The only guy I was with who was uncircumcised was an arab guy that was born over seas. It didn't bother me, it was just different. I assumed there must have been religious/cultural reasons why he was uncircumcised, and it never occurred to me that maybe it was just because he was born in Lebanon. So that's my own American ignorance at thinking the whole world is circumcised.

But threads like this are great (and I wish we had more of them), because, now I've learned that it is mostly an American/Western/Jew thing. It's also interesting to read how people from different parts of the world view circumcision. If you live somewhere circumcision is not often practiced, then I can understand how you would view it as some pointless or horrible mutilation of the male body. But if you came to America and started talking about how terrible circumcision is, people just wouldn't understand where you were coming from.

I love things like this, little bits of wisdom about other cultures that you can gain from traveling, expanding your horizons. I need to travel more.

But yeah, this is definitely a subject not widely talked about. The strange part is that circumcision is actaully controversial ethically which I believe hasn't been brought up here yet. There is quite a few people who believe that circumcision is unethical for a variety of reasons, yet it can also be argued the other way with health benefits.

Also I'm surprised Nina, that the arab guy you were with was uncircumcized. Have a look at this map. I thought most people around middle eastern countries were circumcised.

That isn't true at all.

There's is no rational argument for circumcision. It is, at its core, a brutal act, only done due to horrible old traditions that bear no relevance in a modern world. Also uncut penises are better.

Here in Austria, hardly anybody's circumsized if not for religious (e.g. jews) or medical reasons; it's just utterly uncommon. Thankfully, in my opinion.

As we were talking about cultural differences here is some more :

I've recently heard it suggested that, because of neuroplasticity, the sexual feeling in the part of the penis that's cut off is reassigned in the brain to other parts. So the magnitude of the feeling isn't actually lost, or at least some of what's lost is made up for. People who have been paralyzed from the waist down, or women who've undergone genital mutilation, will sometimes claim to experience more intense than usual sexual stimulation in other parts of their bodies, like the nipples.

I have no source, I just heard this on a talk-show. It's just something to consider possible I guess.

I can believe this, i've heard blind people experience slightly increased hearing and smell. But, I'd still rather not be blind in the first place...
