      Image Streaming Test

Hello everyone! I decided to post here a progress blog about my IS practice. I'm going to practice IS for 50 minutes a day for at least one month, and I'm going to post and examine my results here.
I saw that there were people that tried IS but didn't offer a conclusive answer about it's effects, benefits (big/small, short term/ long term). I am going to do this, but I need some support .
      So, are you with me?

I forgot, some supposed benefits of Image Streaming are: increase in creativity, visualization, intelligence, intuition, dream vividness, maybe even LD's, and more.

      I'm in on this.

When were you thinking of starting the 30 days?

I'm going to start right now. Tomorrow I will post a update of any (but unlikely after only one day) changes.

Personally I think image streaming is hugely outclassed by video streaming. With today's connections, image streaming is a pretty easy problem to solve, a lot of sites don't even huge harsh compression anymore.

Hey Marvo, thanks for the reply, but you didn't get what I'm trying to do ^^

The theory here is that if you are speaking aloud an experience that you are witnessing in your mind, with your eyes closed, you are actually causing the brain to make neural connections cross-hemispherically that were previously not there. In fact, most people never combine these two abilities, that of speaking while the eyes are closed in a process of visualization. Thus, the language centers on the front left brain are never cross-linked to the optical centers on the back right brain.

This technique accomplishes that neural linking. It is also important to use a tape recorder or a live person to speak these imaginings to. Listening to your own voice record your experience is a beneficial part of the process. If practiced for about 20 minutes each day, for at least three weeks, you will notice a marked improvement in your ability to process information. Your ability to visualize will also be strengthened.

I think he was joking, but I'm not entirely sure. Anyway, I've never heard of this image streaming until now. Seems interesting. I'm going to watch this thread for a bit.

Just wanted to update that I have done 35 minutes total: 30 minutes today and 5 minutes yesterday.

No updates on my intelligence or creativity.

I did this for about 20 minutes everyday for 2 weeks. I noticed an increase concentration span, ability to visualize, and creativity. If I had to make an educated guess I'd say my I.Q went up maybe 5-8 points. If you didn't benefit from the exercise then you obviously didn't do it right.

I tried that yesterday - thanks for sharing - Linkzelda pointed me towards it in here: http://www.dreamviews.com/tulpa-land...n-guide-2.html

Could you tell us a bit more please?

I practiced the variation of the image streaming technique from the complete guide to genius. I just silently described the stream of images appeared in my mind as rapidly and in as much detail as possible. You don't have to record it your voice or speak out loud to derive benefits from it, Image streaming just adds more depth to your thinking by adding more visual images, smells, sounds, memories, and insights to your now enhanced verbal thinking process.

Will you be using a tape recorder? I like to because it feels more like I'm reporting than creating.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

I read, that it is pretty important for beginners to do it out loud - I do it on my I-Phone recording function.
Did a second session - and maybe it was coincidence - but after a minute or so the second time - I was visualizing in a clarity and spontaneity I really usually don't have. Will go on with this! Definitively.
At one point I felt like describing a bona fide dream!

Oh yeah - and my source says, that it can be quite useful to listen to the stuff as well, once you have a moment, esp. after a while, when the images really come streaming and are not touched by intent.

It's really not necessary, Especially if you're already dream journaling.

Yeah but be sure to do it as fast as possible and with as much detail as you can possibly muster if you want to reap the benefits of an I.Q higher than 160. This is my primary motive for this.

Instead of writing in a dream journal you're better off just image streaming your dreams (In as much detail and speed as possible) as soon as you wake up that way you gain I.Q benefits and Dream recall benefits. Supposedly, This will also give you precognition and esp abilities too. If you believe in that sort of thing, That is. But I'm definitely looking forward to that.

Well - I think, I certainly need the talking out loud - as you said above, it's for connecting language and visual areas of the brain.
But fast is important - that's true.
I did the third time and it went so lala for a while, less good than the second time - but then, when I came to a certain scene - I got faster and faster and the picture got clearer and clearer and more realistic at the same time. Was really good for a while. Then sub-optimal again.

Well - Linkzelda said, you reap the real rewards after doing it for hours and hours and months.
I doubt, one can get an IQ of 160 with that - except maybe you start from 150 - but good luck there!

Sorry to say - but you probably understood something wrongly - this is from the complete guide to genius and I quote:

You should now attempt to describe aloud the image which you have in your mind.
You should describe it in as full detail as possible. Describe it aloud to yourself, a
Dictaphone, a cassette player, another person, or group. It’s more effective if you
      describe to someone else.
And there is only one description of the whole method.
      It's much too easy quietly.
But it sure is similar to dictating dream-recall on a recorder, like I used to do..

I did a session today and was totally exhausted from less than 10 min. ..
And that's how it should be - he likens it to weight-lifting.
I don't want to go any further into that book - but at least I know now, how it is supposed to be done.

I finally managed to image stream for 7 hours straight:

      Ten minutes is a cakewalk.

Had to do this on my day off, and still have some time to sleep. It's not too bad, just a matter of perseverance

About 35 pages (~19k+ words typed blindfolded and in the dark with occasional peeking to make sure the information was being typed), and I could've done more if I wasn't distracted for 30 seconds to a minute every now and then. And what I learned from this is to plan some themes to go by. I only went with two, but after they got boring, I had to randomize everything again.
