      The Dreamviews logo

There is no doubt, many lucid dreamers on this site. Part of dreaming is dream interpretation and that often involves you know......symbology and meaning.

Well in considering that, I would like to point out something, about the dreamviews logo.

It looks to me like two big slanted eyes, but one eye is different to the other, it has a dot in the middle of it.

In terms of brain function, this would mean one side of the hemisphere has a different activity that the other side. Usually there is two parts of the brain that involve logical analytical thinking, and creative subconscious intuitive thinking. In the dream-views logo the eye with the dot in it, is on the logical analytical side.

This would suggest to me that there is an intentional attempt to make this side of the brain active. It is good to have logical analytical thinking, but if it's too much in that direction, it can blind you. Optimally as stated in the gateway process documents, you want to have both hemisphere's working together in balance.

      Thoughts?

So it's definitely representing wings and not different lobes of the brain? It's just that wings are usually attached to something.

So, what's this giant dot on the right side. I've never really seen wings with a dot on the side like that.

As you can probably tell symbology is very important to me due to my interest in dreams. So if you know anything about the logo I'd love to hear it.

The overall logo was supposed to represent a butterfly, but the "V" also resembles an open eye. The creator is TamiDoll and the logo was chosen back in 2010 during a Dreamviews logo contest.

I've always interpreted the single-eye-open thing as "being awake while asleep", which is analogous to being in a lucid dream.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Ah I never thought of that. Good interpretation. Did TamiDoll elaborate? That is professional grade graphic design. Smart way to get a logo.

One eye symbolism is not rare and can be traced back to Egyptian mythology where Horus is said to have lost his left eye in a struggle with Seth. If you put your hand over your left eye and look at the dreamviews logo, the dot will mirror your remaining eye.

Some say that this sign is used as a way to mock Horus. Others think it simply denotes unbalanced brain hemisphere's. What do you think? Is it just a co-incidence? Whatever the case we can be sure that awareness of symbology in general opens up a world of language, perception, and cultural history.

The butterfly can represent contact with the other side or different worlds, so that's interestingly relevant. Also can be representative of transformation. Since Lucid dreaming is a learning process that does transform you, also highly relevant.

It always looked like to me like a fishhook on the left and a fish on the right. Lol, logo Rorschach test.
