      Very interesting, it would take so long to set it up in real life though, that would be awesome if it were possible, it is but it would take insanly long and have to be based on very spot on physics.

      The little xylophone-train is the coolest. From 2:54 to 2:58 is really clever. The place the ball bounces is perfectly synchronised with the key on little wheels. But I'm not sure the laws of physics would ever allow anything like this to work perfectly. Even the slightest fraction of a degree could ruin it all.

      It would take awhile to write the engine and design the instruments, but once you had all that made it would be pretty easy to tie notes to actions and make some camera positions. The sequel probably took a small fraction of the time that it took to make the first.

      The whole animusic series is pretty neat.

      I doubt he wrote an engine for it. I'd wager that he just used an already existing 3D rendering program, like 3D studiomax.
