What happened?

Seriously i've been a member of this site for like three-four years, obviously not on this account but i've had one before. Anyways i don't visit as much as i did a few months back and even within that time period it seems many more threads/posts are really random or a serious thread is responded to with stupid sarcastic answers, i'm sure it didn't used to be like this, i've noticed a lot of the old members have gone, including a few moderators by the looks of it, is this the cause?

I know there were a few fights earlier this year, people not happy with others, some people getting banned etc( btw is Seis banned or what how many bannings does it take to kill such a creature). But has like DV collapsed or something into a endless pit of lulz and catgirls without the maturity?

I notice it too, you used to not see people trying to be funny on serious threads, when I come a crossed one of those posts I feel like I'm wasting my time, and worse it's usually not even funny.

But it is kind of natural that new people come here, and it is likely that some of them will not be at all helpful to this community and just want to be funny, and find it funny when they irritate people.

DV has been scarred pretty badly, after everything that's happened in the recent past. Some of the staff is still holding on, there doesn't seem to be the sense of order or connectedness between us all, like there used to be.

Compound that with the notion that certain types of personalities are looking to establish some sort of dominance by stamping more and more threads with their brand of "humor," and it's easy to see why DV seems to be in such a sorry state right now.

It's like, since you have a picture of a woman older than me as your avatar, I'm more inclined to be polite. Great success!

I'm a nice guy. Adam's lying about the forum. It's a lovely place full of ponies, and kids, and dreams.

Really though, the On-Topic is the hit-and-run side of the site. Most of the people there just post asking questions about LDs and either leave as soon as they get an answer they don't like, or eventually filter to become an Off-Topic member to contibute to the "wasteland of crap". Most of the Off-Topic members know a shit load about lucid dreaming and are over the share and care with others that have "100% lucid draeming techniques".

DV is a forum. Forums house people sharing common interests. This one seems to be an exception.

Those who enter chat are either deterred within seconds of meeting someone, or end up sticking around for better or worse. Flashchat is the peak of this site IMHO.

There's your starter's guide to DV, congratulations on being picked for the daily pointless word-salad.

I feel like we're friends, and I don't even know you. 'Tis the forum life for me.

Cheers lol! I was starting to get into the silly questions and posts on ere just to get some friends lol! I am really interested in finding out more about my abilities, I know i am above the average lucid dreamer stage as i can controll my dreams most times and see future events frequently. The dreams that scare me are the ones that make u think u are awake and its not untill i look in a miror or catch my reflection, that i know i,m still asleep, so i will run and jump back on my bed and shout wake up to myself, then i,ll wake up in my bedroom AGAIN n run to the bathroom mirror to check and relise my reflection isnt there so run back to the bed AGAIN, this can go on 4 or 5 times till i eventually awake for real. Scary!!! I know with the right guidance i could attain so much from my dream world! Do u have any of instances like this????

You should post your questions in the Lucid dreaming forums (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...isplay.php?f=4) anything in the off topic forums really wont get a proper reply

Don't give that "" face, she's already been directed by people who frequent the Off-Topic section!

I still like the particular combination of ideas that DV gathers, but yeah who still wants to talk about LDing besides newbies? Pfft... so over that nonsense.

But yeah sometimes people's sense of humor is more like spam.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

1. Someone gets banned
2. Drama
3. People Leave

This happened I guess a lot over the past while? A lot of the staff left to make their own, hipper, cooler, Lucid Dreaming site with cool and hip members.

There have been quite a few of these sites, and people abandon ship to go there instead.

But seriously, just check the meta forum with keywords 'asher' or 'wasup' or 'ban/banning' in the march/April range, I think. Lots of fun to be had.
