Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.

It's real freedom, and there's not a word good enough to describe it, so I'll just call it dreamy for now."

Shaelyn, you're sounding incredibly immature and ignorant. You make a stain on other people who have a legitimate complaint about how education or society treats them. You're supposed to LEARN in school, not kick back and listen to music, especially if you're blasting it for other students who actually want to learn and concentrate and who may not like the music. I would get in trouble in school for showing my iPod, period. |

That's what I was thinking too, but I'd like some clarification from the OP before making that assumption. Why were you listening to music in class? Is this study hall or something? Is music allowed in class? Were you listening with headphones? Nothing about this makes sense to me, so hopefully you can clear it up. But honestly if I was in class and someone started playing rap music I would be pretty pissed. This is incredibly disrespectful and distracting to other students and to your teacher. |

Are you doubting that people want to learn or that she was blasting it? It sounds like your doubting that people want to learn, which is pretty fucking retarded. I know that sometimes this is true, that the majority of students in a class don't give two shits about what is being taught, but this is terrible situation. The whole point of school is to learn, if you don't want to learn don't go to school. I really think that for a country founded on the idea of liberty we have gone completely in the opposite direction in the last 100 years. |

157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

Okay, I came here to vent not to hear what a piece of shit person I am for listening to music DURING FREE PERIOD in class. You all are idiots for wasting your time downing me when I was simply uspet for the judgement that was placed on me, and has been since that instance, and decided to vent in a place where it won't come back on me. If its not anything constructive or more sensibly put then I suggest you move on. |

And there we have it, peer pressure brought to you by the American school of anti-intellectualism. Because it's better to just fit in and be a dough-head so that you're non-threatening and easy to manipulate by corporations and the government (well, I may be a bit redundant by making the distinction). |

It was during free period, in which the other students regularly turn up country and he (the teacher) request certain country songs ergo I know he likes country it was not an assumption. Other students who are "different" by this towns standards have complaints about him as well because he is very judgemental. My music was not loud he came and stood right behind me while I was letting a friend hear the song. Again, it was not during class it was during our hour long free period we have after lunch in which we can go to the computer room (his class) and listen to music, play, or talk. No students were annoyed by the music. He wouldn't have even heard it if he hadn't walked by my desk and it was his choice to stay and listen to the "trash". He could have gone back to his desk and not have been bothered but he decided to discriminate. It was not an ipod it was a song off of the internet... |
