LSD is so powerful that I'm not surprised that there isn't more of this. That's why when I do LSD, I take only what I want to take and put the rest somewhere out of reach all while sober. That way I'm not tempted to take more later while I'm tripping. Lots of people get themselves into trouble when they decided to take more while tripping balls. They forget just how string LSD is.

Bad acid! That is something else besides acid. I have tow friends who did some acid in Arcata last year. They were very experienced but they weren't prepared for this. Somehow they ended up buying plane tickets and going to New Mexico and then to Philadelphia and then back to California, the whole time thinking that they were on a spaceship with aliens! They didn't come down for three weeks. They believe that this was not LSD but some experimental government drug. That is why I always stick with the organics, and if I do take a man-made chemical, I make sure that it is recommended by people I trust. Flashbacks don't turn you violent. Flashbacks from LSD are completely benign. I wouldn't even call them a flashback. You just can get visual distortions if you try kind of like you are remembering how to do it, but it doesn't affect your state of mind. If you are becoming violent and/or psychotic from a flashback then it wasn't LSD that you took. Stick with mushrooms folks, our brains are built for it and you know they are safe. The mushroom isn't going to make bad psilocyben or psilosin!

I find it weird that he was able to do that. LSD dulls senses, but it doesn't (at least not for me) completely remove them. Even completely tripped out, the pain of doing that should have prevented it. Seems to me like it was laced with PCP or one of those other really bad ones. LSD also doesn't last for days, usually between 6 and 12 hours. Sounds to me like someone there invented something that's similar to LSD, but far far weaker.

I'm fairly certain that pure lysergic acid diethylamide doesn't do the things described by the article, although I personally do not have experience with anything more than pot. Dissociatives like PCP, ketamine, and high doses of DXM might. Anticholinergics like atropine and scopalamine (in datura, mandrake, and henbane) as well as diphenhydramine are historically known to. Witch lore and stories of people waking up naked in fields covered in blood are abound for those. Someone probably pointed the finger at LSD for propaganda purposes. EDIT: Meanwhile, several hundred people do even crazier and no less fatal shit on alcohol. Like driving.

could have been laced with PCP. there was a handicapped guy in florida that, while on PCP, ate his son's eye out of its socket...can i repeat that? ATE HIS SON'S EYE OUT! then he went and chopped his own legs off, before the cops got there. i read about it in the paper a couple of years ago.

I'm fairly certain PHP was involved in this. Actually sounds like a pretty likely solution. PCP doesn't really cause hallucinations (so I've read, I've never experimented with real drugs,) but it can cause people to mutilate themselves without pain and cause really bad paranoia. LSD causes hallucinations really easily, so the LSD make the guy hallucinate something moving in his pants (probably his own penis since LSD also makes you horny), and the PCP's paranoia made him think it was a monster, so he cut them off. Still doesn't explain the length of time the guy tripped. Both PCP and LSD trips last only a couple of hours, I can't think of anything that can cause trips as long as the ones talked about in the article. Week long trip drugs just don't exist Could be a government experiment, but why would they choose multiple people from the same town?

Still doesn't explain the length of time the guy tripped. Could have been Datura. That stuff is famous for trips lasting several days, as well as intense hallucinations. Plus it grows everywhere, and would be easy to concentrate. It's also very toxic, which would account for the severe "flashbacks" which were more likely neurological damage.

I had one experience with PCP, so I am not an expert. It was actually a nice experience, not like the horror stories I heard about.
