      Mint gum

mint gum. pure and simple. keep it on your tongue while you sleep. there's no way to choke from it (at least...low risk, its gum kay?) and it works really well. first time i tried it i got 2 lucids in one night.
got the idea from a friend who doesn't use forums..but his grandfather studies lucid dreaming.

different brands work, and some don't...i wish i remember the brand i used.

Not quite a placebo. It's actually been said that Mint as a substance helps to make dreams more vivid. Sip some peppermint tea before you go to bed. It can be helpful.

Hmm this actually makes sense. I'm a gum addict and I sleep a lot with gum in my mouth. I think it seems consistent that nights i sleep with it I have more vivid dreams! Thanks. I'll test it out.

first time I used it i had 2 lucid dreams that night...which added to my now total of 5. so Its pretty effective. I haven't been doing journals lately (I just got BACK into it) and it still worked. I was afraid it was a placebo, but honestly don't believe it is. I DO know different brands do different things, so experiment and post the best one!

Interesting, but I don't really feel like waking up with gum in my hair.

I love gum, I chew it all the time (unless my jaw gets sore...) but I'm not sure I'd like to sleep with it in my mouth... I'll try it out though, thanks

And it's awesome your grandad studies lucid dreaming!

I think you'd get the same effect if you eat something with mint an hour or so before bed, or just chew it while you're awake for a WBTB then spitting it out. Well, keeping it in your mouth could work too, but I'm not keen on having something in my teeth while I'm sleeping. I'm paranoid of choking on it.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Mint Gum is spicey hot. Creates a burning sensation in the mouth.
This burning is a slight discomfort. Discomfort raises awareness.

I guess this would work with ground pepper and chili pepers too.
