has anyone thought of making one? like a tube that straps u in so u are unable to move when u wake up.. and maybe put goggles on or something to keep your eyes shut.. this could let DEILD work every single time... could also work for WILD :p |

Yes. I've had the same thoughts. It's something I come back to occasionally but haven't made any progress yet. |

My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.
I don't believe that would work. It's about not trying to move as much as actually not moving. You have to recognise you are waking and then not send the nerve impulses to your muscles that would then make the mind feel the body was awake. You can "virtually move" without actually moving. |
|
I have heard of people wearing sleep masks for it a lot. |
|
i think it could still help, just the feeling all over your body would remind u instantly to not move after a few tries.. |

I think sleep paralysis during REM sleep is initiated from the brain, so that you don't act out your dream experiences. The idea of not moving when you wake is all about training your mind not to move so that at a baser level your mind is tricked into thinking that you are still in the sleep paralysis mode. I suggest it's more about not triggering the sequence of events that lead to full wakefullness, which starts with the initial movement. |

Yeah, I think it's more of a mental thing than a physical thing. You need to train yourself to not move. Using something to restrict your movement will only be uncomfortable. But some physical cues can help. As above, a sleep mask blocks light. Without it, you may instinctively move to cover your eyes or open your eyes to light. I've also heard of wearing a bracelet or rubber band on your wrist, or a piece of tape around a finger. The slight unnatural feeling of pressure on your skin is a reminder to not move. |
