Thread: lucid dreaming book

My mom gave me a realy cool Idea for the cover, Im going to make when I get home so you may have to wait an hour or two. Meanwhile could you guys start up some poles and get some more techs, like aids for sleep paraylisis.

here it is, just an idea
needs much improvement diferent thing happening in the eye, like looking into a dream, I'm sure we can think of better ideas

Alright guys, I guess I should apologize for vanishing the last few days.

Truth is I was caught up in a wave of being really busy. I had school, went out of state this weekend, and now I'm am just now finishing up all of my homework. I should have said something beforehand, but I didn't. Either way you can bet I'll get working. Truthfully though it would be better if we had college of writers working on different parts. It would be eaiser on me and my schedule, and since this book is all of ours it would get things rolling much faster and allow different voices to surface.

For now I will assume I still have the assignment of chapter 2 and get a first draft sooner rather than later. Unfortunantly I have classes tomorrow so you won't see me much more tonight.

If you want I can take over the history chapter. We can divy out from there. But it may be a couple weeks before I have it ready, college is a bitch (I got a 10 out of 100 on my last programming assignment, )

I take on the "aspects of dreaming" chapter. I, too, have had little time lately, for working on a stressful Cultural Fare. Now that it's over, I can go back to my own pursuits.

Just to mention, the chapter about the history of lucid dreaming should be thoroughfully revised, as to avoid innacuracies. The thing we least want is to make innacurate claims.

I don't think it should have people in it, I think it should be ambiguous, vague, mysterious, intriguing and enticing at the same time.

I guess I will be the first to use this forum, Im going to create a cover brainstorming thread.

I'm a little late to the party but I'm willing to help out.

I'm not that great at writing, but I can proofread, research, whatever. Where ever you need help.

Guess I'll grab Chapter 4:: Intro into Lucid dreaming.

Its not to late to join the party, we need all the help we can get, the more help we get the better the book will be. You should probably do research and other things along that line. You could also gather up some techs, maybe for sleep paraylisis we will need some of those in the book because that seems to be a problem for people. Thanks for joinging

Trust me, if I write something I'll take the liberty of posting it. As I said I was extremely busy, and now that I've gotten a whole new chapter to work on I've got zilch that wasn't posted a few pages back.

so what about chapters 2 and 3, whos doing those?

As far as I know Need has chapter 2 and Kromoh 3. [Also I think these guys would do a much better job with these chapters than myself, honestly]

Thus I'll take 4. It will be far more effecient with multiple writers working on different parts of the book at the same time. It speeds the production, opens the book narrative to reflect more members of dreamviews, so forth.

@ Need. I understand man, college is what kept me from being very productive lately. I say take all the time you need, and again if you just can't find the time I'll try and do it. For now I say let's see how this works out.

im really excited that a plan is beginning to form....man this is a book I would def buy

Make sure you include dream recall and the basis of reality checking in your chapter.

@ all writers:
If you believe anything requires special revising, put it in another colour. If you want to add comments, put them into brackets, in another colour as well. This is just to make skiming through the text easier.

I'm creating a new thread, for keeping the project plans. Whenever necessary, I'll ask a mod to edit the necessary posts.

Alrighty, I'll handle the research then.

I still think this should be more out in the forum, maybe in the Important information section, we could have much more help in this book.

edit: I'm going to make threads with all the techs kromoh has to see there % of succes, how often the try, how hard they. please give me more things to poll on, I dont think I have enough.

Poll lvlindless's "anti-technique" thing. Or are you only doing ones that are from the tutorial section?

Anyhoo... how is this book going to be different from LaBerge's? Obviously we at DV have way more techniques and other bits of info, but for instance how is the "history" section of the book going to be unique?

mes, could you give us a link of the tech so we can look it over and see if its good, no we are not only using tuturials from the tururial section (I think), others would be good to.

Kromoh, I think we need some more techs tuts and chapters to add to the layout of the book, I'm really tired so I cant really think of anything right now.

I really think you should take this one into serious consideration. It is very very very unique and I think it's important to have a really wide range of techniques in this book.

To answer your questions, I believe the history chapter will feature the popular views on dreaming in more details that LaBerge's work. We can't say our attempt will work, but at least we're not looking forward to copying LaBerge's material.

cool, you got more tuts, I think we need more than 4 chapters though, like one about regular dreams and things to do in lucid dreams, and an example chapter at the end.
