      looking into a mirror

i had a dream that i looked into a mirror, and what i saw was me but i looked completely different. I had on dress from the 1800's, and my hair was one length, pinned back at the sides and was really long wavy and brown. I felt it was me but my reflection was very weird and resembled nothing the way i look now, but at the same time i recognized myself. Very bizarre.

I have had a lot of dreams where I look into a mirror, it has become a fun thing with me. I have seen a lot in those mirrors and have to think by what you've seen may be a past life. This is to say that you still see yourself as that person. Thats just a guess though but in some way you felt like that person and in that way were that person.

Not long ago I looked into the mirror and saw a human-ape creature. If it's a past life, then we either reincarnate in various forms (as some cultures believe) or the evolutionists are correct.

I often think that your image represents what you think of yourself. I was not feeling well when I saw that creature. More recently when I was in a better mood and looked into a mirror, my reflection looked normal, but made silly faces at me.

I had a butchers through some stuff on google, a lot that came up with mirrors in lucids was that they either reflect something thats too fuzzy to see, or they turn the dream into a nightmare. If their showing you what you think of yourself that might be intresting... Im gonna have to look in a mirror in a lucid.

Just from a quick glance, I personally never have found a mirror in a lucid, they smight "draw you into a reflected dream world", it's the only thing that pops into mind seeing that they can change your dream into a nightmare, or show you an opposite verson of yourself...

Mind you, thats just from a quick glance and a personal theory... next time I lucid Im going to have to make a mirror appear or atleast dream myself into a place with a mirror..

I have had dreams when I look in a mirror, I don't remember what was in them though... Maybe the mirror just had no reflection, or I simply can't recall.

My reflection always tends to be distorted, and usually creepy/sinister in some way. I think part of the issue is that I have now come to associate mirrors with these types of experiences, and so each time I loom into a mirror, the same experience happens again (which only reinforces the association). In reality, I don't see why a dream mirror would be any more "special" as compared to any dream object, but for whatever reason it does seem to be far more reactive and mutable than everything else.

I had a dream where I looked into a mirror and the person I saw wasn't exactly me. Well, I guess in my dream I recognized the person as myself but when I had woken up and thought about it... it didn't really look like me at all. The reflection looked hispanic (I'm asian), she had black curled hair and dark makeup on. Weird.

I find that the longer I look at my reflection in the mirror, the weirder it gets. When I just glance at it, everything feels cool. The longer I look, the more I notice how strange the reflection is. Maybe I notice my teeth are messed up. No, my arms are different lengths, too. Wait, why am I covered in otter fur? Are those breasts? It just gets worse and worse the longer I inspect myself.

Wait, I remember looking into a mirror and it working. It was the night I watched inception. I looked in the mirror and saw my face looked sad, kind of like a depressed person that does an ok time at hiding it, but not perfect. But it was so extended that it seriously screwed up my face. I can notice the smallest things in peoples expressions, and then my mind exaggerates it so extremely. My dream face was created by the scene in the first level of dream, when Leo Decaprio was talking to the architect (forget most of the characters names) about Maul I think, or limbo, and his expression looked agonized.

I have a thing about dream mirrors and I thought I'd list the things I have seen:

      Scary
      Missing teeth - 4 times
Weak teeth (able to move them but they didn't come out) 2 times
      Pimple
      Cut on face
      Eyes morphing

      Strange
Blond girl - (really I am a dark haired guy). This was reflected in the glass face of a radio.
Two chubby boys (maybe 7years old and 9yrs) Both had crew cuts and were looking back at me like 'what?'
Blond lady - This one I caught while walking past a mirror. I did all kinds of head movements to make sure it was really me.
Short haired girl mentioned in my DJ. She waved at me excitedly and seemed to say "Its me!"

      Aggravating
It was my expected self in the mirror so I hoped to enter the mirror like a portal but found it just as hard as real glass.

These come to a count of 9 but I am sure I have more that were simply forgettable but they may be written down in my DJ notebooks. I don't know any of these other people looking back at me in the mirror, a cool and yet disconcerting experience.

      LOL

I'll testify to that. The longer I look, the more bizarre my reflection gets too. I remember one time looking into a mirror, and sure enough its me but creepy and distorted. It began making faces at me, like getting it was trying to freak me out...except I wasn't getting freak out. And as soon as my reflection realized it wasn't getting to me, it went back to normal and just smiled back at me. Cheeky subconscious!

I've never looked in a mirror lucid, but in non-lucids I usually see a normal looking person, who I know is me, even though they don't look like I do IRL. Doesn't happen too often, but it isn't as freaky as I guess it can be for a lot of people. Not like looking into a mirror while tripping on shrooms, that scared me a lot more than dream mirrors do.

I dreamed once I looked like a vampire in the mirror. Red and black old fashioned clothing, epic white colored hair, red and white pupils, and a hanky stuffed in my pocket with an emblem of a rose. I remember thinking, wow, I'd love to look like that in real life...real life, whaa? BAM lucid dream. XD
      Oh yeah, and fangs. D:
'The petals dance through the wind,
The crimson blood shimmers on the snow,
The shattered heart weeps of hidden sorrow.
And over a pure white sky,
      rises a black moon.'

      That sounds awesome!

And I've seen several "versions" of myself. Nothing really strange, just my appearance changing. IRL I'm tall (5"8), sorta pale although it depends on the season, with dark hair that's about mid-torso length and greeny/bluey eyes, however...

Version 1 - Smaller (maybe 5"5?), pretty tanned, light brown hair which is to my shoulders, brown eyes.
Version 2 - Tall, very very pale, light blue eyes that were kinda sparkly, dark hair. My lips were REALLY pale aswell.
Version 3 - Pale-ish, green eyes, blonde hair ('twas wierd, I've never been blonde before) with bits of auburn and brown in it.

Luckily nothing freaky has happened, although whenever I look in mirrors I seem to find it hilarious.

Version 1 was in a blistering desert where I found a mirror, version 2 was in a large mansion, version 3 was when an old lady was cutting my hair. Meh.

IKR? It's so much fun to look in a mirror, yet some people seem to be afraid of it. XD

Seen mirror only once in non-lucid. I was watching myself from side, I knew it was not me, despite the fact the body was mine...anyway when this "not me" came closer to the mirror I saw reflection - that was huge green toad-like woman something like Rose from Monsters Inc. It's like reflection revealed the true nature X))

About a week ago (before reading this), I had a lucid dream experience that got me back on track with lucid dreaming in general. I managed to WILD (inadvertently while sleeping in the middle of the day) after a WBTB (again inadvertently as I woke up to look at email real quick). This was after staying all up night until sunrise the day before, so I just slept the entire day.

I checked my email, then I went back to bed to go to sleep. After a few minutes of lying down, I was still not unconscious. It wasn't long until I started to feel something else in the room. Another presence was there. I was not alone and it was not benevolent. I remembered about sleep paralysis and the old hag and all that, so I just ignored it and kept trying to fall unconscious. Then I heard several roars and growls as I felt this thing climbing around the walls and ceiling of my room. Again, I ignored it because I knew it wasn't real.

Afterwards, I felt like I was being pushed down through my bed while spinning like a top. At this point, I knew that I was experiencing the effects of a WILD or sleep paralysis, so I decided to get out of my bed and move to end the experience. I couldn't move. It was already happening. I was paralyzed. So I tried again and felt like I was moving through clay. I was very sluggish. I managed to get out of my bed and stand up. I looked around. I wasn't in my bedroom anymore! At least, not the one where I live now. It was back at my home when I still lived in Philly with my parents, before college during high school.

I knew I was dreaming, so I walked out of my room and into the hall. Directly across the hall is a mirror (just like the one in my parents' home). Something about it makes me curious. I want to see what happens if I look into it. I didn't stabilize the dream or anything, as it had been a while since I had intentionally tried to induce a lucid dream. I forgot a lot about what one should do to make it last as long as possible. Anyway, the dream feels sluggish, and I feel like I could "faint" at any point. But I pushed through this tired feeling and walked up to the mirror.

Looking into it, I saw myself exactly as I thought I should look in the dream. I touched the mirror and it behaved just like a mirror. But looking into my reflection's eyes, it didn't FEEL like it was me. It felt like it had an awareness of its own. I remember trying to talk to him or it to see what would happen. At first, he just moved his mouth the way I did, just like a reflection would. But then I stopped trying to talk. I tried to go into the mirror itself to see what would happen. I pushed my hand through and while it did liquify around my hand, the mirror resisted and pushed back. I could not get through!

Then the reflection looked at me and started to talk. It was moving its mouth, but I couldn't hear what it was saying, as if the mirror itself was a barrier. I was scared! Sure, I've had lucid dreams before and know that things are malleable and reality will not follow the rules it does in the waking world, but seeing MY reflection behaving of its own accord while I was face to face with it freaked me out! I shook that feeling of fear off as I just stood amazed at what I was seeing. I kept trying to push through the mirror, and it pushed back. I really wanted to see what was on the other side, so I decided to try flying into it. I tried to fly into it, and while I succeeded in gaining more momentum, I woke up before actually crossing through the mirror.

Mirrors in dreams are fascinating. Maybe it's a more direct version of your subconscious interpretation of yourself. If that is the case, then we could probably learn a lot about ourselves that way.

Very interesting... I would have to agree with this, I think that we all have past lives, so why wouldn't our subconscious psyche use dreams as a way to project them?! Awesome! Looking into a mirror is one of my goals, in the hopes that at some point I will see myself sleeping!

I only managed to find a mirror once. My hair was a bit longer than in real life, but the rest of the reflection was perfectly clear and precise.
Examining the image carefully, I got lucid and tried to enter the mirror. It was quite an experience

I had a lucid dream last night (actually 4 hours ago). I was in the bathroom when i got lucid so i decided to look into the mirror. What i saw was myself excactly like the way i look like in waking life. :p The whole dream was very realistic.
