      Cool slingshot into space

I'm new so sorry for the consecutive new threads, but I just fell in love with this site and all of you

So last night I was having a non-lucid dream that I was stuck in these massive waves crashing on a beautiful beach shore. I wasn't afraid and didn't sense any danger, I was just trying to find my way out while getting sucked into the pull of the waves and tossed around over and over.
I started jumping every time a wave came by, and I would soar over each wave about 15 feet in the air. So fun. I sensed this was a dead give-away that I was dreaming and I became lucid. I looked up at the sky, so beautiful and real. It looked like an oil painting of a sunset with purple, deep blue, orange, magenta, and even though it was bright and sunny, there were stars. Something you really have to do when you're lucid is take notice to details. It's crazy how beautiful the sky was and it looked so real. I was amazed that my mind created that. But anyway back to the dream...
I got the idea to shoot myself into the sky, so I did. It was like being slingshotted into a kaleidoscope and I shot all the way to space, stars racing past me. Then I woke up My LD's usually last longer, but this was one of the most beautiful and somewhat meaningful. I woke up and reflected.

You know those dreams that just leave you with an overall sense that you got something out of the dream? I used to have horrible nightmares as a child, and no matter how lucid I was, I couldn't understand or control them. I'd have nightmares so horrible I was afraid to go to sleep because I wasn't at ease with myself. Now I felt this dream was a sign that as I'm growing up and learning more every day, I finally truly understand and have control over my self. I never have nightmares now that I can't turn into a good dream. Understanding your subconscious and deepest feelings, desires, and thoughts, to me, is pure bliss. Thought I'd share!

Lol! Well it certainly sounds like you've fallen head over heels for the place!

While, currently, I am not of an LDing streak, I used to have quite the interesting and quite inspiring dreams. Perhaps nothing so abruptly dazzling as the gem you just described, but it felt as if my dreams were the only interesting part of my life at plenty of times during high school and early college. ... I just recently graduated from college, and am doing plenty of procrastinating with friends whilst just barely paying for rent, ... which is probably why I'm so distracted away from LD inducing practices and dream journaling,... but then again... I DID just come back to this forum literally yesterday morning! XD ... I think I'm going to revisit my LDing, and perhaps try to venture into astral projection even (if I can muster the concentration for such).

Of course, you will find people from many different mindsets about dreaming. I'm a bit more up-front about the more psychic/spiritual aspect of it (which is a stream of thought a few people here do not find compatible with their current conscious view of reality. "to each their own" is the least I can say). I enjoy going on my nightly DMT trip! ^_^ Its a jolly good time!

I'm just really lucky when it comes to LDing, I've never had to work at it. I've been LDing since before I knew I was LDing, hence why I had such nightmares as a child because it scared me since I thought it was real. I've literally had dreams that helped me get over ex-boyfriends, helped me work on things I'd like to change about myself, and even dreams that could be comparable to an acid trip. Our minds are playgrounds.

If you're interested in astral projection, you should try DXM. Much easier than concentrating your way into it. Forgive me if you're not into that stuff

"Nightly DMT trip" <---hahahaa perfect explanation

You don't remember how you first learned to LD?

A lot of people who have frequent nightmares say that's what triggered it for them... they used to force themselves to wake from the nightmares and apparently this caused them to be able to recognize when they're dreaming, leading to lucidity. I wonder if that's how it happened for you?

Yes actually, that's exactly how it happened. I would have horrible, sometimes reoccuring nightmares to the point where I'd be so afriad to go to sleep. I'd always end up wanting to sleep in my parents bed, which they hated after a while, showing up at their door at 3 am. I even had painful dreams at times (yes, you can feel pain in dreams). So sometime around elementary school, I started finding ways to wake myself up from nightmares, for instance materializing a cliff to jump off of. Eventually instead of waking myself up, I was able to change the course of my dreams to wonderful experiences, hence I gained dream control. I'm not sure at which point I became lucid, since as a child I only saw this as a way of dealing with my nightmares. Eventually the bad dreams went away and I'd be excited to dream since I would be able to muster the most profound and vivid lucid dreams. As I get older, they get better and better. I'm at the point now where I can LD four times a night with little effort, which actually happened last night.

I still remember the effort it took me when I was little to begin controlling dreams, although it was a frustrating journey. I feel that everyone's subconscious fights the ability to control one's dreams at first. It took a lot of self-mastery and a huge change of mindset to get where I am now. I wish this fate for everyone to find what I have found in the dream world. I honestly learn something new every night. So please if you have any questions feel free to ask!

Wow, i can really relate to this kind of meaningful experience and i love your point about taking notice of the details in a lucid dream! People sometimes set themselves the most elaboate goals, but the most amazingly simple one is to view the dream itself! to take notice of the fact that you are fully aware in another state of being. I have had lucids where i was picking up small stones just to make out the startling detail on them!
and the sky indeed can be even more beautiful in a dream!

Your actual dream sounds stunning, funny enough i had the exact opposite the other night(not lucid). I was falling FROM space down to earth in a capsule and it was amazing, when i was up there i could sea ocean glistening.

I really want to make it a poiint to go into space when i am lucid becuase your experience inspires me!
      great share!

The amount of detail you can get in a lucid dream can be so overwhelming, I once stabilised while in my backyard by focusing on my vision. Holy crap! I recommend to any of you, if you see something that is pretty in a lucid dream, put your awareness and intent on focusing your eyes on everything around you and deepening the detail. The limits of your physical eyes are gone, you can see a wider field of view, with incredible focus, in deeper colours and vividness than you ever could in waking life

Cool, I think i'll try what you're doing. The only difference is, I'm gonna start from space and dive into earth. Time to make a hole in this damn planet

Wow I don't think I've ever tried to enhance the detail!! And I'm soo happy I inspired you Zenitharr. I truly wish the whole world could experience this at some point in their lives but not everyone truly appreciates dreams. And have you ever noticed that the skies in dreamscapes are hardly ever blue. My dreams set in daylight, the sky is lavendar, gold, yellow, or white. My dreamscapes set at twilight or nighttime, the skies are deep purple, bright blue, and emerald green. Breath taking.
