First DILD since being on this site!

Last night I had a my first good DILD!

I was on the top of a very tall building. I don't know how I got there and I'm not sure if it occurred to me to think about it. I was with two children aged around 8 years old. The kids were from an earlier part of the dream... I was on the roof and there were no stairwells or other ways down but to jump. The roof looked really plain at the top and was just dull gray. The building seemed surrounded by a forest below.

For some reason one kid jumped off the building, then the other. I had a small feeling that I'd be fine if I jumped. I thought something along the lines, "If this is a dream I could just fly off the building." Then I had a third person view of myself and saw a very thin halo like glow outlining my face and body, and I knew I was dreaming because I don't usually have that glow. I then went to the edge of the building and jumped off and at that moment the colour in my dream seemed more bright and vivid looking then I had ever seen it. The trees looked so big and powerful. I could feel the wind against me as I dropped until I gained the momentum to fly level and go upwards again. While flying i thought about going to the city and just then i saw the city buildings, I grabbed something to eat and then woke up or may have just lost the lucidity.

I feel much more motivated to keep up the reality checks and DJ. I going to look up ways to retain my lucidity.

      Just wanted to share.

      Thanks weakamon and lawiland!

Just one note to people reading: Please make sure to do reality checks before jumping off buildings!

Congrats, that sounds awesome! What did you eat?

Usually if one does end up jumping off a building without doing RCs, they don't have the mental clarity or awareness (which means they're in a dream), so there isn't really a high chance of someone actually jumping off buildings in real life. You'll be aware enough, and be able to think clearly enough to make that judgement call. That can also function as a type of RC. You could stop and think, "am I in a clear state of mind, and can I process thoughts normally?" This can help raise your awareness and serve to test if you're dreaming or not.

      Keep it up!

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

It didn't come to my mind to do the RC, though I did feel quite sure I was dreaming and I felt aware.

Recently I've been asking myself questions about my environment, items around me, .. instead of just doing the hand RC, so hopefully that'll make it into the dream world soon.
