      Is this a lucid dream?

I've been trying to achieve lucidity for a couple of weeks and I'm not sure whether I finally got it last night.

Basically I was in my dream (not lucid) with a friend and a random girl I knew from my high school. Then out of no where my friend tells me I'm dreaming (is that normal?), I look around and I start pointing out strange features of my dream telling him he's right. I basically just walked around the house for a bit and occassionally things would start to go black like I was going to wake up and I'd start spinning and things would go back to normal, the dream in general though wasn't very clear.

What happened next was what confused me, I had a false awakening and I went back to normal dreaming. So I dreamed about lucid dreaming, is that a lucid dream?

When you in a regular dream and you realize you are dreaming, that's lucid dream. This realization is accompanied with sense of greatest joy and excitement, at least for first couple of LDs, until you get used to it. So if you had an LD, the best person to figure that out is you. I believe you can have a false awakening from lucid dream. Happy dreams

Gab is absolutely right. You feel like you are dreaming. That is called lucid dream.
