Lucid, but not lucid ? Weird experience

Hi Guys, It's been a while I haven't been on DV or into Lucid Dreaming at all. I never had a Lucid Dream yet.. But I deeply want to have one..!
So here's my dream scenario of yesterday:

      Real life:
1 hour or so before I go to sleep, I did some reality checks.

      Dream:
I was in a normal dream, I don't really remember where I was and with who. But I remember switching directly to another dream. Like a "second level". Yeah, like in inception. (I know this isn't possible with the human brain, don't worry )
And then, I realize I am dreaming. I hold my nose, I try to breath, YES! It works! I am dreaming! I go to my kitchen and see my parents, and say to myself "Oh, they're not real..."
In 2 or 3 seconds, the dream went black. I was back to my other dream "the first level".
In the first level, I was screaming: "Yesss! I finally did it!" and saying to all my friend that I finally achieved lucidity. But the problem, is that it was still a dream...
And then I woke up, in real life, to realize that all this was not real...

What is pissing me off is that I don't know wether I was really lucid and failed to control the dream or It was just a dream scenario that did this to me.. I don't know if you guys understand what I mean by that.. but if you guys can help me, it will be really appreciated!

Hey, thanks to you and of course, sweet dreams!

It is possible to dream about being lucid. but that dream feels like a regular dream.

But you said you realized you dreaming and it seems to me that you got excited about it in a dream? I would say you were lucid in both dreams.

Well it sounds like you were only lucid in that second dream you switched to, I have had many times where I have falsely woken up as well in another dream and not be lucid.

From what I understood, you got lucid and perhaps lost lucidity fast. Still counts though c:

Hey! I was wondering if anyone else had this as well. After a week of trying to become lucid, I had a dream where I (thought) I knew it was a dream. And I was telling loads of people to try and jump, and everyone was just jumping really high. it was qutie strange. When I woke up though, I knew I didn't actually have control of the dream . I think you had the same thing, dreaming about having a lucid dream. Pretty frustrating
