First layer 3 LD last night!

      Hey everyone,

I had a DILD (layer 3) last night after an unintended WBTB (stayed up for 5-10 mins). I kept repeating my mantra before falling asleep which I believed to have helped me a lot.

After falling asleep I found myself in the gym with my workout buddy. When entering the locker room I found quite a few weird things happening (e.g. pulling out an infinite number of t-shirts I didn’t even own from my backpack and having weirdly looking lockers) which led to thinking that a reality check would be appropriate (I have trained myself to always do a RC in waking life if I experience anything, even just slightly, out of the order). Before doing the RC in my dream I was pretty certain that it wouldn’t work because the dream was so exceptionally vivid (most vivid dream I have ever had so far, looked and felt exactly like real life) and after doing the nose RC I did the finger counting RC just to be 100% sure I’m dreaming. Since both worked I exited the locker room as I recalled my goals for when I become lucid (flying and passing through a wall). When I exited the locker room I saw that the gym was apparently in space. The ceiling was ~20 metres high and the walls had huge windows in them through which I could see the blackness of space and its stars. Since I wanted to fly anyway I altered gravity to 0g as I found that appropriate. I then pushed myself off the ground and flew towards one of the huge windows. On the way to it I tried to change the dream world by closing my eyes for 2 seconds and then opening it. Unfortunately that didn’t work, but passing through the window did. I was outside in space now but whent into the gym again rather quickly. When I was back inside I did a finger RC to be keep myself aware of the fact that I was dreaming (I ended up having 7 fingers and my pinkie was smaller than usual). I eventually reached a large gap which was so deep that I could not even see the bottom of it but I knew I could just fly over it. Upon arrival on the other side I noticed that the dream was fading and the lights were getting darker. I remembered that in this situation rubbing my hands could possibly work, so I did that. As that did not seem to help I went on to spinning in circles but that didn’t work either. I eventually lost my lucidity and the dream went on for some more time without being lucid.

I believe to have been lucid for around 2 mins which is actually the longest so far. Before that I only had layer 1 lucid dreams which all ended a few seconds after realising I was dreaming.

Just wanted to share that dream with you guys as I see it as quite a big achievement for myself.

      Regards,
      Sparkelz

Wow congrats! you'll have a lot more if you stay motivated and you'll get them randomly sometimes!
I love your name because it's like mine but in real life I actually hate sparkles or any kind of form of it.

What do the layers mean? What system are you using to categorize lucid dreams into layers?
