Marijuana in dream and its connection to vividness

      Hi everybody,

I am new to this forum, just signed up today. Anyway, what got me interested is these two dreams I had where it involved smoking marijuana. In both of these dreams, the similarity was that they were both very vivid and I could recall them very easily. And I believe the dream became vivid after I smoked. This to me is very interesting, anybody else had any experiences like such?

To give example of vividness, in one dream after I smoked marijuana, I could remember seeing the texture of the road and thinking how beautiful everything looked, even today, perhaps a week after, I could still see the vividness of that scene.

Another dream, after I smoke some marijuana, I remember looking at the counter top and see the texture, then I open the fridge, take a drink and put it back, I could see it very well.

In conclusion, I think that smoking marijuana in your dream acts as a placebo that enhances the richness of the dream.

No, I checked those. I am talking about smoking marijuana IN your DREAM, not before it or in waking consciousness.

I have smoked weed in many, many dreams and it always seem to have fantastic effects. For one thing, it makes me feel unbelievably high. Sometimes it seems to increase the vividness and make everything stand out more. Makes things more colorful. Other times it distorts my perceptions in a comical manner or causes me to start floating into the air. I personally love smoking in dreams and if it seems to make your dreams more vivid then I suggest you smoke weed as a stabilization technique. Once you become lucid, if everything isn't as stable as you'd like, pull a blunt/joint out of your pocket and clear things up. Use it to your advantage!

Good idea kingyoshi about using marijuana as a lucid dream stabilizer. I will give it a try next time I lucid. I have tried the spinning in a circle, has worked, but the vividness of a dream when I smoke in it seems to me that marijuana will probably work better.

I have gone lucid about four times since I wanted to. I have not had immense control over all of them. So, kingyoshi, seeing that you have had alot of lucid dreams, you should try using marijuana as a stabilizer and let us know how it works out.

I will also try it out and will post my results.

      Wink Lsd

I've had a similar experience only instead of marijuana it was with LSD. It was terrifying. I think that we can all alter our perceptions based on whether or not we're convinced were on a drug. However, i find that it becomes difficult to define a perception when looking inside ones own head. For what is there to perceive but previous perceptions? That is with the use of physical peripherals (5 senses). The human mind can be an ease to understand at times, it can also be an absolute wonder. I haven't actually experimented with LSD, i do have two hits under my couch though just waiting to get under my tongue.

I smoked weed in a dream recently and it was great , so strong though, I was euphoric and could barely walk haha
      An extreme body high
This has happened a few times, its always waaaay too strong and I always acknowledge this in my dream.

As for it getting more vivid, I can't say thats the case for me, becuase my dream self is too busy going "woaaa im wrecked"

Its seems the cannabis I acquire in my own personal dream land is always some sort of strain that is almost exclusivly body high and nothing on the mind, except alot of euphoria and feeling incredibly relaxed, to the point where, as I said, I can barely stand.

I need to talk to my dream dealer about this

Well, I've never smoked in real life, so I guess I'll have to make up the feeling in my dream .

I can really only remember one, and it wasn't lucid. But yeah, it made everything much more vivid.

      Spoiler for Dream Journal 10/16/09:

In other dreams, it served as a plot point more than anything, like here and here.

I've done a lot of drugs in dreams. I can safely say, smoking is one of the funnest. It is highly exaggerated, but fun as hell! Just like I like it.

Here's kind of what it's been like for me..

Shrooms (maybe ecstasy?) ~ Wasn't too great. Colors were fun, and everything kind of had a painting look to it. Music sounded great, but nothing compared to the real thing.

      -

Marijuana ~ All of my experiences with pot in dreams were absolutely amazing! Extremely vivid. The high was insane, sometimes my mind would be like I'm on a low dose of Salvia. Some would be Hash highs, and I'd feel great! Just all depends on what kind of high you are feelin' that night haha.

      -

Acid ~ Not that great. I had some visuals, and floating colors. Nothing that fun. I was also extremely disoriented at first.

      -

Salvia ~ It was pretty dumb. Nothing really happened, other than some distortions in vision, then I just woke up randomly..

Hmm, that's all I can remember haha. To be honest though, it's more fun doing them in a dream. Everything is just soooo random and funner. If you were to do it in a lucid, you might as well do them in waking life. Kind of a waste of a lucid dream. Unless of course you are out of that certain drug haha.. then go ahead, have fun

I did have one dream where I was having a Psychedelic experience far more intense than I've ever had in Real Life.

I dreamt I was in a livingroom of a house that seems to be a very frequent and familiar dreamscene. It was a mostly dark livingroom, with some vague, plae lighter comming from some weak LEDlights in a stereo.

I was on a coutch and I remember trying to drop 1 drop of liquid acid on my hand's palm, but accidentally dropped out 3. On top of that I ate 3 dried, shrivelled Peyote buttons. Very stupid behaviour, because I was tripping FAR too hard for comfort . Kind of a subconscious self-warning to stick very well to my own known limitations.

      It was enjoyable yet terrifying.

Had another dream once where I snorted a little Ketamine of a friend. Something I've never done in real life, and would never do. It turned out to be a disaster full of shame and confusion. Good self warning once again I guess. Nowhere near enjoyable.

Damn, I was gonna try this last night, I was so close, I had the joint in-hand, but I got intrerrupted...It was a pretty wired LD, like 10-12 FA's chained together, I was able to catch every one but somehow ended up doing something different in each one, like a bunch of separate mini-LDs.
