LD'ing without recalling: my stupidest experience ever

I woke up, and went for a DILD/WBTB.
Then I woke up again after 3 hours, no recall.
However, when I started thinking, I remembered myself thinking
"I doubted whether I heard sound in dreams, but this is definitely a fire alarm I'm hearing, lol!"
      (referring to http://dreamviews.com/community/show...3&postcount=19)

This means I've been lucid, had that very conscious thought and didn't recall a shit of it (except for that single thought)

      LD'ing without recalling: Possible.

I'm also curious about your experiences with this phenomena? Have any of you had an LD, but only knew so because you remembered just a single thing?

Sucks don't it? That's happened to me at least once before. I woke up and all I could remember was realizing I was dreaming. I'm willing to bet quite a few people have had a similar experience.

Yeah, I think it's just a matter of increasing your recall ability

Do you keep a dream journal? It's really important to have good recall... Otherwise, like what happened to you, you could go lucid and have no recollection of it.

Yep, I've got a digital dream journal. I always mentally pass through the dream when I wake up and then go to my computer to put in the journal.

I've had that happen. Infact, I think I have forgotten two LDs, possibly more as a result. I can't exactly remember how I can to the conclusion about those 2 possible LDs but I was pretty sure at the time that it was 2. Anyways, trying to recall is key. My recall is pretty bad but I'm putting the effort in now to get better recall to get more LDs, remember more dreams, etc....

I hate when it happens to me. Usually I have a good dream recall, but from time to time, there're some dreams which I just can remember realizing I was in a dream and then I sarted doing something I cannot remember at all. I think I got sucked into the dream again.

I have this all the time, I am a semi-natural lucid dreamer, when i can remember 2+ dreams a night I'm 40%-60% likely to lucid dream but there is a trade off and that is that i find it really hard to get good dream recall, thus i always lucid dream without remembering.

from the age of 7-16 i did not remember a single dream, that 3285 consecutive days with 0 dreams recalled. I only started to try and remember when i found out about lucid dreaming, even for one point in time i had the opinion i did not dream

The very rare occasions i get recall up to a fairly good level then i have many a lucid dream

I always thought that if you were to become fully-lucid, you would be able to recall it as if the moment happened in waking life. And if not than it wasn't a full on lucid. Just a semi-lucid.

Lucid means that you're aware of the fact that you're dreaming.
You can be fully lucid without recalling the dream (in very rare occasions )

I like the thought that you can forget LDs... That way I tell myself that I'm not THAT bad at LDing, it's just that I've got bad memory!
Probably self-delusion... but it makes me feel better.
