Thread: Dream Guide, giving powers and changing personality?

Hello, all. A few weeks ago, something happened that has been really bugging me. I was in a lucid. I won't go into the details here, so I'll go straight to the point. Well, I was getting beat up by a bunch of monsters. And my dream guide came to help me. (which happens very rarely, by the way) Maybe you don't know since i haven't posted a dream journal yet, but here is a description of her:

So then, she suddenly comes up, and attacks the monsters, freeing me. This has only happened twice before, but I was grateful for it. Then she came to kiss me (at least, thats what I thought) but then, her lips moved to my neck. I thought she was kissing my neck, but then she bit me! I was like, WTF??!! What are you doing?? She replies, " I am sick of watching you getting beat up and coming to save you all the time. (this was the third time she came) Thats why I am making you a vampire. Don't you feel something in your body?" As soon as she said it, I became aware of a burning sensation in my neck, where there were two holes, that looked like they were made by fangs. Then I felt a VERY hot liquid moving down my neck, into my veins, then into my arms, and finally my whole body. The pain was very realistic, and agonizing. After what seemed like ages, the pain finally stopped. I looked at my hands and feet, and they were perfectly normal (or as normal as they could be in a dream) Then Leona comes up and says, "Well, now you're a vampire."
"What the HELL are you talking about?!" "I told you, I just made you a vampire."
I was freaked out, then calmed down, and asked her to explain. She said she had given me vampire powers, and now I could fly, drink blood (gross), have supernatural powers (cool), and can never die (cooler!) I thought she was kidding, but she said she wasn't. After that, it suddenly comes upon me that only vampires can turn other people into vampires. I ask her that, and she says, "Oh, about that. Well, you are right. I guess I haven't shown you my true form yet, have I?" I was like, WTF??? TRUE FORM??!! Then she stands up, and I notice for the first time, a vivid tattoo on her arm. She suddenly puts her finger to it, and it stars to expand, until it consumes her own body. After a few moments, she turns into a flying monster, one with fangs and wings and those narrow, slit-like eyes. I was either too shocked or excited by this, and I was slowly losing control. Maybe she sensed it, and she shouts, "To turn into a vampire, just touch the tattoo on you arm!"
After that, I woke up. Until here was fine, just another LD, but I have had some 4 or 5 more LDs since then, and in each one of them, I could transform into a vampire, just has she said. My form is totally pure black, with a dark grey kimono, without sleeves and with the extension of my tattoo (tribal) showing up my neck in red color. Then I saw her again in my LD, this time using the behind-the-door technique to bring her out. What I learned after some discussion was, she was originally a vampire, but she hadn't shown it to me yet, because I was not skilled enough. (at what?) But she promised me to "teach" how to use my new powers, and promised to come in the next LD.
Now, does anyone else had their DGs changing personalities? This is a little unusual for me, because she always appeared in the same form. Also, has anyone else been "granted" powers by their DG? I don't mean teaching you stuff, but transferring power to you. I am pretty excited, but I wonder if it has a side effect. Up till now, I have had no problems transforming into a vampire.
I look forward to transforming again and meeting my DG more often. But I am curious about this. So please, share your story if you have experienced anything similar, because it would help a lot. Thanks!

But, as far as I know, DGs are just your subconscious. So, if it "gives" you powers, then you will have them in subsequent dreams. And I would assume DGs also change personality with your moods and mindset.

You told mods to delete both of your threads, so you should edit this one and tell them to keep it.
BTW, the vampire thing is really cool.

Wow that sounds crazy. I'm also jealous because I haven't met my dream guide yet either...

I was recently reading this manga called Rosario+Vampire which probably had the influence on me, because I was thinking while reading it that I wish I had those powers, and right before sleeping, too!
If that's true, I'll ask my DG for a whole lot of........other things.

If you read Rosario + Vampire, your DG will have a seal, and you will need one too before becoming a ghoul <.<
Anyway, its your dream, so it makes sense that your DG is giving you powers.

Yeah, but I already HAVE a seal. Remember the tattoo on my arm? But it would be cool to become a ghoul! XD

wow... i've never heard of anything like that before! how cool. it just goes to show that really anything is possible. O.o

you would need to have good recall and at least one or two lucids a week before you can fix on one dream guide.

So, I'm verily freaked the fuck out right now. For the record, this is my first time reading this thread.

That said. . .

I had a string of LDs today (1 WILD 4 DEILDs off of it) in which I found someone claiming to be a Dream Guide (She was in each one). I perceived her as a young woman about my age (19) with pale-ish skin and a French accent. Remembering my goal, I asked for her name. Yeah, it was Leona. Oh, and that feeling you described when you're with her is dead on.

I really don't know what to make of this.

What the hell is that??!! Now THAT'S what I call amazing. Would you write those dreams in your DJ, I wanna read them, man! Thats fuckin freaky!
Well, it could be a coincidence, or it could not. It would help if you elaborate more, so we can differentiate between the two of them.
Here's my description which is a little more detailed.
As I said, she looks like a French girl and has the same accent. She has VERY pale skin, like a vampire (that's because she is one) Recently though, her dressing has changed, from a deep blue dress to jeans and a shirt to all sorts of normal clothing, nothing in specific.
Whenever she is there, I feel love, warmth, kindness flowing out from her, but I also feel that she has had some deep emotional crisis some point in her life, which she doesn't tell me.
She is usually soft-spoken and hardly ever shouts, but during training she can be a nightmare for me.
Well, thats my bit. If you enter your dreams in your DJ, I'd take a look at them and see if she's the same one or has some differences.

I wish I had the time to write something up, but as it is I'm going to be pulling an all-nighter tonight just to keep up with my classes. I really shouldn't even been on the forums, but I can never get work done until late at night anyways. . .

However, I can provide a slightly more in depth description for the sake of comparison.

I met her in a friend's dorm room after I had been very vocally (and forcibly) calling out for a DG. The quality of that particular LD was pretty bad. It was amazing that I even managed to get out of my room. Anyways, she was there along with my circle of friends, who were all leaving as I came in. They all ignored me on the way out, but she approached me. I wasn't able to make out her face in this one (my perception of the dream was literally stop motion), but I did see her clothes. I don't really know how to describe them. They had a slightly purple hue, but were fairly nondescript, definitely not a blue dress, though. I could also make out black, straight, just above shoulder length hair, but I had forced that on her with my expectation of what my previous DG had looked like. I questioned her very loudly, almost angrily (long story), asking if she was my DG. She replied very calmly, in a very disarming tone, "Something to that effect." I was suspicious, but something about her made me feel warm and at ease, but at the same time there was almost this longing, for lack of a better word. The dream slipped away before I could do anything else.

DEILD

The dream quality this time around is much better. I strengthen it by touching the environment as I make my way back to the room. I half expect her to be gone, but she's still there, waiting. I get to see her face this time. It's pale. About the same color as a friend of mine who I like to joke around with about how white her skin is. Her hair is different too. Not sure on the color, but it has a slight wave to it.

Over the next few dreams, all of which were fairly short, we conversed a small bit. I finally got around to asking her name, which she gave to me. Also, in one dream, I noticed something strange about her face that concerned me. I wouldn't call what I saw "vampyric" but it was definitely monstrous. She sensed my surprise when I saw her face like that and asked me what was wrong, almost playfully. I brushed it away, assuring her nothing was amiss. I'm fairly certain she didn't believe me, but she didn't press the issue.

Outside of that, from my brief time interacting with her, I can confirm everything you've described so far except the emotional crises bit and the training (haven't seen her fight). But what really gets me is the name, French accent, and the way you describe that feeling she exudes.

Do me a favor and ask her about me the next time you see her. I'll be sure to do the same for you, if you want. I'd be curious to know the responses.

Thats quite freaky! You described that feeling dead-on! It's exactly how I feel, and it's so hard to express it in words. Well, gotta ask her next time around. I will be posting in 2 or 3 days, so keep a lookout.

Alright, MadMonkey told me that my DG reminds him of YOUR DG, so I decided to take a look... and well.. they ARE kinda alike.
They're both blonde, they're both vampires... I also get that "love/sadness/warmth" feeling when I'm with her.. she is about 18, but her name is Angel. I wonder if they know each other xP!?

All female DGs vampires are alike, thats why <.<

my DG id also a vampire but hes a guy, he looks a lot like Alucard from Hellsing, although he doesnt have the glasses, the hat. the guns, and the coat he wears is a little different. I get the same feel though, a sort of sad/dark, but safe and warm feeling. Like he is all i have ever wanted to be, and hes here to teach me everything he knows. (which is everything there is to know i guess) He shows in many different situations with different intentions but not really a different personality. Like one time i was at a ball in a mansion in England at around the 1800s, and he came over to me dressed as a waiter and told me to leave into the garden behind the mansion where in the darkness i saw him again in his usual cloths sitting with his back against a tree waiting for me to join him... etc the story is long.. but i think u guys get the idea =)
