Childhood dreams that are bothering me now....

Hi, I just made an introduction post and just felt like posting what I need to know right away...

So, let me describe what I used to dream as a child, I have been trying to find a meaning to this dreams everywhere but haven't been lucky...

When I was a kid I had a bit of a traumatic experience with a movie, It had to do with a severed hand so... I got creeped out and started to have nightmares about this hand chasing me or just grabbing me and tickling me, I have to say that even as an adult I don't like to be tickled, I find it annoying and I feel uncomfortable when someone tries to do it.... It's not only the fact of dreaming with that hand, I used to have nightmares where people I trust such as my mom and dad would tickle me with a vicious look on their faces... in those dreams I know inside me that they're not my real parents, just copies but it used to make it even scarier...

I also dreamt with this weird entities that would lift me in the air and make me spin while grabbing me by the armpits which happens to be a very sensitive and ticklish spot on my body... My parents back then told me that I could wake up by closing my eyes and counting to three, most of the time would work... To this day they say that my nightmares must have been terrifying because I would wake up screaming and really scared...

The thing is that I started to remember all this things in detail and being a person with anxiety and depression it just makes me feel really bad, last night I had trouble sleeping because of those memories and I've always wonder why those dreams affected me so much. Needless to say that I can't watch the movie I mentioned before, but I don't feel affected when I watch other movies that show severed hands that move or something... just that one...

well I would love to get some feedback, interpretations... It would be interesting to know if someone have dealt with this kind of dreams... I have others I want to share but I'll try to do it in another post.

Your childhood dream was just playing off you fear from the movie. Ask yourself what is really so scary about it. ITs nonsensical that a disembodied hand will hurt you. If it really bothers you, then practice lucid dreaming and learn how to control or change the outcome of your dreams so that you can overcome the bad feelings about the childhood dream.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply my post, I also find it kind of weird that I get scared at that, yet when I'm in the dream I lose it... I should try to control that... I really don't know what scares me about it... in there it looks really menacing...

So next time you have that dream, you can be like...Hey there's that stupid nonsensical hand again and the light a firecracker under it and wala..no more hand. Lol
