Here you've assumed Christians believe something in particular and used it to insult them before they've even responded to your question. Do you see why this is offensive? |

"Every day should be a good day to die."

And are you suggesting a divine deity could only care about the existence of massive, super-intelligent space-men? |

And if we are linked to god, the creator, why would he not tell us of any other life-forms? |
|
You asked why some divine deity would care about our 'meager' existence. To me, this suggests you believe God could only care about super-special beings with super-special powers (which, in fact, humans might be, considering we have an intellect and have done incredible things with it--tell me again, why are we humans so irrelevant to God?) |

True, the chapters where God goes to Mars and bosses around all of the giant ants are often glossed over. |

"do what you wish"
I almost stoped reading this when Vee started talking about telepathic red deer. Anyway, My church teaches that God is not only the God of this world, but the God of the Universe. It is believed that this earth is not unique, but one of many of his creations. As such, it is believed that there are other worlds that are peopled and that they would also have been created in his image and after his likeness similar to this world. Though the LDS Church has not explicitly adopted any official doctrines on the existence or absence of extraterrestrials, there are a number of scriptural passages in the church's scriptural canon which can be interpreted as implying the existence of life on other planets in the universe. |

LD Counter (as of 07.25.07) = 5 (2 WILDs)
Short-term goal: Recall three full dreams a night for a full week.
Long-term goal: Have three LDs per week for one month.
Longer-term goal: Have one six-hour LD every night! (Shooting too high? We'll see.)
Waking life goal: Round up some NPSG equipment to study my own sleep patterns.

My personal opinion is that, if pre-enlightenment era humans were introduced to the idea of life on other planets... These species would most likely spawn new religions with them as the focus. |

Great 'argument' ninja, I mean, not like there is a strong relation between Intelligence and religion, riiiight? Only the really sad idiots are fanatics, or the problemed people, like you. Actually, you might be both, I don't know. |
