Here you've assumed Christians believe something in particular and used it to insult them before they've even responded to your question. Do you see why this is offensive?

Have you ever read the bible? It is COMPLETELY centered on humans. Wtf? Why would some divine Deity care about our meger existence? Well, obviously because we made it up!

Perhaps because the Bible was written by humans, on earth, where humans are the only forms of intelligent life. I'd be surprised to hear the apostle Paul talking about repentance of the martians.

And are you suggesting a divine deity could only care about the existence of massive, super-intelligent space-men?

And if we are linked to god, the creator, why would he not tell us of any other life-forms?

I never said that. I said the bible is completely based around the latest species of Homo, us, SAPIENS. Hell, according to the bible (which BTW is god's word) god spent a whole day on us.

You asked why some divine deity would care about our 'meager' existence. To me, this suggests you believe God could only care about super-special beings with super-special powers (which, in fact, humans might be, considering we have an intellect and have done incredible things with it--tell me again, why are we humans so irrelevant to God?)

Why didn't God tell us about other life forms? I could see it now: Jesus sitting at the last supper, telling his disciples to eat the bread and drink the wine because it is his body and blood, then saying, by the way, extra-terrestrials exist. This is a ridiculous question.

What else should the Bible be based off of? Turtles? Cockroaches? Though, these creatures might have trouble reading the text. So I guess it's logical to make it about humans, just like every other history book.

      1. Humans can't even figure out how to harness the tiny amount of energy in a lightning bolt.

      2. We can't even land on our moon.

      3. Our social infrastructure is failing.

      4. We WILL go extint, just like evrything else on the planet.

      5. I asked why god would be so intent with us. I mean, we are like a speck of dirt on a flea on a dog in a field on a planet in a universe, in this universe.

      7. All life should be valued equally. The bible teaches otherwise. The bible teaches that we are superior to animals, in truth, this is only humans' innate sense of superiority. The need to belong to something grand.

      8. You have persistently avoided the question.

I may be coming into this a little late, but you have it all wrong, and you don't know anything about Christianity. If you want to ask a real question than ask it. Also, you obviously have NOT read the bible.

True, the chapters where God goes to Mars and bosses around all of the giant ants are often glossed over.

Of course the Bible focuses on humans, dipshit.

Besides that, this discussions is pretty silly. If all ninja pirate can say is "have an open mind" meaning "believe my bullshit monotheistic view", than there isn't really much conversation going to happen.

I have the feeling most of the time people that say "have an open mind" don't have open minds themselves. Just because someone claims to be spiritual, or claims to believe in some very-true magical power/god, doesn't mean that person has an open mind, even IF it were true.
I love the insults. I really do. Does it make you feel superior? I hope so. Goodbye, friends.

I almost stoped reading this when Vee started talking about telepathic red deer. Anyway, My church teaches that God is not only the God of this world, but the God of the Universe. It is believed that this earth is not unique, but one of many of his creations. As such, it is believed that there are other worlds that are peopled and that they would also have been created in his image and after his likeness similar to this world. Though the LDS Church has not explicitly adopted any official doctrines on the existence or absence of extraterrestrials, there are a number of scriptural passages in the church's scriptural canon which can be interpreted as implying the existence of life on other planets in the universe.

Oh, you're Mormon. That makes sense. I was wondering where your ideas were coming from.

Please post those Scriptural passages that refer to extraterrestrial life. I'd like to know what they are.

Wait, more insults? From Neruo? I would have never guessed it! You have such sensible logic!

May I remind you that the only way you ever discredit others is by telling them they are stupid or wrong?

Oh man, do I feel cool right now.

Btw, according to polls, 90% of people in America believe in God. Are we all fanatics, Neruo? Why don't you lead us to sanity with some more insults?

My personal opinion is that, if pre-enlightenment era humans were introduced to the idea of life on other planets... These species would most likely spawn new religions with them as the focus.

Most people act like god was dealing with humans that were like we are now... But most modern thought started over a millenia from the bible.

That said, I'm glad to see that Neruo is lively as ever... hats off to thee.

Great 'argument' ninja, I mean, not like there is a strong relation between Intelligence and religion, riiiight? Only the really sad idiots are fanatics, or the problemed people, like you. Actually, you might be both, I don't know.

Also, I rather insult people by telling them they are twats than I would insult human dignity by acting like a religious twat.
