"Well, shit. Ah, well. Hey Bezelbub! Pass me a cold one and turn up the Packers game! Ladies, get your fine asses over here."

After that would follow an elaborate series of plots designed to conquer heaven, for the lulz. I've got all eternity to try and take over. Might as well use it.

      oh

Except Hell is probably really unpleasant, so right after oh I'd start thinking about how terribly unfair this whole mess is, and try to find some higher ups and get some information.

I'd be shocked. But I really don't think we'd have a conciousness in Hell. Just the constant feeling of pain, anguish, and despair. That's the only thing I think we'd have... I believe in the Christian God too. But I think sometimes that Hell is not Hell. I know a Buddhist girl. She was raised in a Thai home in Thailand, she is so nice... I cannot imagine on any day her going to Hell. Because I KNOW that if she was raised in a Christian family she'd be Christian. I would probably be Buddhist if I was raised in a Buddhist household, and the same goes with most everyone! I think appealing to the real God would be, "Hey, I believed in my religion whole-heartedly and I followed the rules I was supposed to. I had morals. I was GOOD." My God is a merciful one.

Meanwhile, us atheists raised in Christian households are making alternate travel plans.

What do atheists believe will happen when they die? Nothing?

Another Hypothetical question. What if the Atheists end up being right? Darkness forever huh?

To answer the O.P's question. I would say "I deserve to be in here for the "Hell" I raised." Then I would go and suffer for Eternity. Because in the end.......................We all deserved it. Right?

Wouldn't that be the same thing as asking What are we doing in hell if were dead? Besides God can do anything and it depends on what religion you believe in IF you believe in a religion.

This is totally get off the topic. But if your given a choice of to either follow god or not. Then it is your choice to face the consiiquences. How would it be God's fault when you had the choice.

      Its simple really.

      Do good get good.

      Do bad get bad.

Not darkness...think more like that time during sleep where you have no memory, no knowledge, no conscious thoughts at all. Basically, not existing.

Technically, the term "atheist" can include anyone who doesn't believe in a god, even if they do believe in the supernatural or an afterlife. Many Buddhists, for instance, could be considered atheists.

If there is no afterlife, which I think is most likely, then no, you would not experience eternal darkness. There would be no experience. It would be like the time before you were born, that you have no memory of, because you did not exist. You wouldn't be keeping track of time, either, because there would be no "you".

Hence all the people turning to religion so they can believe in immortality.

Because in the end.......................We all deserved it. Right?

Cool I didn't know that about atheist? I guess Buddhists could be called a parity atheists.

Thats going down a different road. But that would mean that all the people would died poor and slashed were killed died in vain. It means that dictators like Hitler got away with their actions and their was no justice. But that's a different topic and I won't get into that. Thanks again.

Of course, to the universe, we are nothing but tiny, insignificant, ignorant bits of carbon. What does it care if one bit of carbon mass-murdered 6 million other bits of carbon? Whoop de doo.

What he did was an atrocity by our standards, absolutely. I'm just saying the universe as a whole couldn't care less. Morality is a human defined concept.

I would first think, " Wow, someone really hates me to put me here. "

Then regret doing what I should have done.

Just for chuckles and grins, I'd like to point out that in hell, you can't die, so there's nothing to stop you from repeatedly attempting to conquer or escape from hell. What are they going to do? Torture you? Kill you? I say assemble an army of your own and take over the entire afterlife.

*Walking up to the demon with the folder* "Uhhhh.....hello! Excuse me, sir! You're not gonna believe this, but I think there's been a big mistake. *nervous chuckle* You see, I think you might have the wrong guy here. When I was standing in line at the Pearly Gates, the bigoted, homophobic, child-abusing priest in front of me was let straight in, while I was kicked down here. Haha, I'm sure it's all just a terrible misunderstanding. Maybe you could just check the records and.....what? I...it's not a mistake? Oh, well.....okay.....I guess I'll just....go in here and uhhh....burn forever then. But yeah, thanks anyway."

I agree with this. In that kind of situation, I guess you can either give up all hope completely or try with all your might to bring down the tyrant sitting on the cloud. Even if I got into Heaven, I would still be pissed off knowing that there are millions (maybe even billions) of people living in agony and despair while I'm living a perfectly happy existence. Whether or not I would play the brave guy, spit in God's face and march back out the way I came, is hard to know. But I definitely couldn't live in eternal happiness knowing that a place like Hell exists.

Thinking back on the film Dogma, it's kinda strange that they made Jason Lee's character seem like the bad guy because he wanted to end existence. I'm sure any one of us would want to do the same if we were in that situation. The thought that God could allow things to work that way would kinda prove that existence is, as he put it a "failed experiment".
