      my modified version of wbtb

I don't know how well this will work for you guys, but it has worked for most of my ld's, and I just wanted to throw this out there for you guys to try.

This will probably only work if you have had a few lds, and have increased your awareness/ have a good level of it.

Also, I am not sure if this has been posted before, so if it has please don't kill me

THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU HAVE LOTS OF SPARE TIME TO SLEEP IN, IT ONLY WORKS ON WEEKENDS FOR ME.

step 1: Basically, just go to sleep, and have a normal dream, do NOT keep an alarm clock, you will need to wake up naturally, this is what seperates this method from normal WBTB.

step 2: Wake up, do not force yourself to wake up, wake up naturally. do NOT move at all, you can get a little bit of movement, maybe to get in a comfortable position, but you CAN NOT FULLY WAKE UP UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! try not to think too hard, or even think at all, because you cannot fully wake up.

step 3: Go back to sleep. Chances are, if you are tired enough, and follow step 2 correct, you should fall asleep almost instantly, the only difference is, you're a little more aware because you were only half awake, and now you're half asleep. You may end up in a similar dream, or even back in the same dream (this has happend to me many times, by many i mean like 5 lol)

basically, it's almost like a shortcut wild, but not really because you still have to realize you're dreaming, its just a lot easier to realize

I don't really know the science of this, but what I do know that it works great for me, and I hope it works great for you!

Try it out and ggive me results/feedback, cheers!

      last night's results

      5/8/11

I was fighting zombies in a realistic minecraft world with Edwin, Nicolaj, and 2 other friends, whom I forget. anyways, we were fighting zombies, and constantly changing into them, and changing back next round, etc. I saw all our beds at one point and asked Nicolaj what was the difference between ores like gold, silver, etc. He said that the higher they go up, the less of a piece of shit they were.

Then I woke up irl, I knew it was time to try my modified wbtb, so I immediately went back to sleep, thinking about shared dreams.

I found myself back in the same world, but I didn't catch on, I started asking edwin while we were on a treadmill line thing what his dream was last night. he described something similar to what happened to me, but a little too different to be a shared dream.

I woke up when my sister came in my room telling me to get up because it's 10:30.

odd dream considering i got over minecraft after playing it like 4 days straight for like 2.5 hrs a day, i kinda got bored.

BTW I WAS NOT LUCID DURING THIS, AND I CAN PRETTYMUCH GARUNTEE THAT THIS WAS NOT AN ACTUAL SHARED DREAM

doesn't a regular wbtb require you to get up and do something then go back to sleep? I know this isn't a huge difference anyways lol.

      if not then fuck iunno

Good job! This is not WBTB, this is way better - you have naturally discovered the DEILD/dream reenty/dream chaining technique!

I do something like this in the mornings too. Since i don't have anything to do i just keep going back to sleep whenever i wake up. Although DEILD, at least from what i've seen, usually requires being lucid already, leaving the dream and waking up in rl, staying still, and then falling into another lucid to chain dreams together. maybe i'm wrong though.

I could try this as I have trouble falling back to sleep after being awake for sometime.
At the fork in the road I turned left while everyone else turned right..

At least in my experience, DEILD requires just the slightest spark of awareness and effort. Waking up from an LD already provides enough awareness to accomplish the feat. Otherwise, you have to learn to recognize the awakening and go back to sleep consciously

How can you be "tired enough" if you woke up naturally?
But yeah, sleeping in helps with lucids for sure.
