I was talking about going through daily life and hallucinate some stuff while your eyes are open, but still technically in a lucid dream.

Also, for the whole thing, yes, I know it is possible to sleep walk consciously, but I don't know if it is possible to have some sort of technique that would in theory work.

If you can, would you mind backing that up? I mean besides waking up with your nose pinched.

Do you have some kind of article you can provide? If so, we may have something to work with.

I do have one experience that I had a dream where I was driving and I slammed on the brake and woke up with my foot actually moving as if it were stomping on something. I knew I wasn't at the REM phase though because it was too soon.

I'm a little concerned that if you were to live a whole day, while lucid dreaming, I would hate to hit the atonia phase while driving down the freeway. Also, how would you be able to sleep at night?

Interesting idea. Basically you would just have to get in to that state of mind you were in with the nose pinch and practice it lots and lots, and slowly do more and more.

I remember the only time I've ever sleep walked was when I took 2 Mersyndol tablets for a headache. I passed out real quick and then I sleep walked when I woke up about 14 hours later lol

I though I'd have more to talk about with this. Hm.

I don't have proof except for the fact that I have done it, and someone else in this thread has done it. (I know we can't know for sure that is what we did, but I know that I am very certain)

Also, I suppose you are right, it is rather dangerous.

And "how would you be able to sleep at night?"... you would be asleep the whole time...

Are you saying that we would be sleeping 24 hours a day?

Could you explain how you think this would work exactly? I read the methods, but the science behind it seems puzzling if this were to work.

You could try using a video camera or something. That would be interesting and you would know for sure what is going on.

Reminds me of this movie i saw where a guy waked up in the morning with bloody sheets and clothes. He taped a video camera to his head to see what he was really doing at night...

Technically, yea, you would be asleep the whole time. But, I know that it isn't worth the same as normal sleep, so you would only need to lie down whenever and it would be as if you are in a normal lucid dream.

And I like the idea of video camera. Although I need to gain lucid dreaming skill before I try this fully enough to experiment like that.

I seriously hope that if you were to sleep 24 hours a day you would not be driving.

Wait so... assuming this works, you would be asleep all the time, but also aware all the time? So you would never be unconscious?

As mentioned before, the main purpose of this thread is to find out if there is anyway to induce this sleepwalking state and develop a technique. But it does sound like it's what he is shooting for.

Another question I have, is if you are sleepwalking and become lucid, then aren't you just awake? Ofcourse there's the dream-like hallucinations, but well... you are now hallucinating.

It seems like a somewhat thin line... But when you think about it, when people sleepwalk they certainly aren't awake, so theoretically being lucid while sleepwalking would still be being asleep. I'm not sure how you could tell the difference if it's during the day though. Well, other than the hallucinations, as you mentioned.

It's to do with what stage of sleep you are in and stuff. It could be possible that you could go through your life for a day like that, and next day you fully wake up and not remember a thing.

Sounds like a lot to not remember especially if you had the awareness.

You usually just don't remember anything from like stages 1-4 while stuff in REM gets a little more attention. However with atonia in REM, you would either not get up and experience sleep paralysis, or just fall to the ground when it hits (or else you would probably have to go see a neuorologist) which is why I wouldn't think it would work. Also because we wake up after every REM period (even if we don't remember) which is several times a night, and if you wake up while umm... lucidly sleep walking, then what?

This shouldn't stop you from experimenting though. Atleast try using a camera so you know for sure what is going on.

Well i also think this is possible... I noticed someone said about it would have to be a different phase of sleep to be able to control your RL body in a LD... Well i don't think it would because sleep walkers are realy people dreaming while there body didn't go into SP (i think)...

I also personaly think that sleep walking could be like your spirit being in the real world and seeing what its like just like what we do in a LD... e.g when we become Lucid for the very first time in our life we would be like "OH COOL" then try to fly or do something you cant normaly IRL... So maybe our spirit is like "hmmm so this is what its like to be in a real world"... Well it may sound stupid but im only throwing it out there.

Well... yes... But being lucid doesn't require you to be in SP So that argument is out the window.

      Hmmm... Spirit?

Sorry, but I would prefer not to bring things like that into this. (Not out of lack of respect, I would just prefer to keep it as scientific as possible)

But isn't one of the points of sleeping to rest the body and heal muscles and such so doing this a lot could actually damage our body.

Uhh, what are you talking about? Being lucid doesn't affect how much rest your muscles get.

Yes but this isn't just lucid dreaming this is walking around while your lucid dreaming in your actual body.
