I've got this growing tomato plant outside in my yard, and it's obviously not alive. it can't move, it doesn't breath, and it obviously doesn't react in any sensitive manner to any of the bugs around it. it doesn't even talk back to me when I try to hold a conversation with it. any ideas on how to get rid of a dead growing tomato plant?
It moves by growing towards the sunlight. And it senses light. Stick your tomato in a cardboard box with a hole in it and it should try to grow through the hole. And since when does anything have to have a conservation to be alive?
And if it IS dead, use the leaves as compost. And watch how your dead plant is helping things live. That's life, man.
There are many more life forms that don't fulfill these conditions than there are those that fulfill them.
Such as...?
that's not really the point, y'know? "alive" has become such a loose term that we can apply it to pretty much anything.
So my pet rock is alive. My digital clock is alive. My book is alive, it's been made outta trees, right?
