We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Whats worse than a pile of dead babies? |

I'd rather not have a signature, thanks.
Your name is chuckles, therefore you obviously find almost anything funny. |
!
Well, is it the joke iself you find funny or the general reaction you get from people when you tell them? Is just about any style of joke that goes beyond social norms a laugh or do you actually find violence against babies to be an amusing concept? |

Oh, those are mean! |

What is funnier than a dead baby? |

You are dreaming right now.
I don't find it funny... it's cruel and plain mean. The surprise answers are clever, I'll admit it, but really, how is the picture of that in your mind funny? Thinking it's funny is just as bad as actually doing it (in my mind). Whoever thinks these jokes are funny might as well be laughing at bloody horror movies. |
This is why I find humour like this funny. |

What's worse than 3 dead babies in one trash can????? One dead baby in 3 trash cans!!!! etc |

I remember as a child being told that things that I see on TV aren't always real. I remember thinking how obvious that was, even when I was young. Your inability to recognize the objective difference between a thought and an action are nothing short of mental disability. |
What people don't get is that I actually can tell the difference. I'm not stupid. |
You may as well have said that. You said laughing about something violent and disturbing is as bad as doing something violent and disturbing. You directly equated people who enjoy such dark humour to murderers. I agree, accusing you of having a mental disorder is harsh. Also, I think you are stupid and I think it's entirely fair to critisize your idiotic and unfounded opinion. What harm is caused that could be anywhere near murder when someone laughs about murder? Especially about a murder that didn't even happen. At the worst, when someone makes a joke like that it might upset someone who is sensitive to the issue, such as someone who has had a friend who was murdered and I would agree that purposefully using such "humour" to cause that kind of reaction is a pretty cruel thing to do. But it's nowhere near actually murdering someone and it's not what we're talking about. Given the context of a "bad" joke that everyone who hears it enjoys, what is the harm? How is it immoral? |
OK, you should know that I didn't mean what I said literally. You would be the stupid one to think I thought dead baby jokes were as bad full-blown murder. It's common sense to be able to tell that. |
You haven't proven anything. All you've done is spell out the gruesome details. So what am I supposed to conclude? It's gross, therefore it's immoral? Your examples actually miss the spirit of the joke entirely, but let's suppose that is what I found funny. What is the actual harm caused? |
I never said there was harm done. What I'm trying to prove is that you shouldn't have such gruesome thoughts in your head and that you shouldn't be laughing at them. I don't even know what the spirit of the jokes is. |
But if no harm is done, by what standard do you consider it to be immoral? |
Immoral things are not always harmful in the sense of physicality (they can be thoughts, too). In case you're wondering how I saw this, I was looking through the "What's New" stuff. |
So is there some kind of harm done? What is it? |
OK, I didn't get that across correctly. Sorry about that. |
