What are the benefits of a regular sleep pattern?

I'm in High School, and I feel like I waste time when I go to bed around 9 or 10 PM, I usually go to sleep between 12-3AM, then I wake up at 6pm, sleep in school and take a nap at home.
I've heard about the 8 hour thing, but when I do get 8 hours, i feel even more drowsy then when i get 4 or 5.

It's just a waste of dreams if you sleep in school but naps are great imo.

You waste time when you sleep in school, because you could be getting educated and preparing yourself to be a productive member of societ- *cough cough* sorry, I'm done being a snobby prick.
Anyway, a regular sleep pattern makes your body get more rested over time. Your body will get on a schedule and you will feel more tired before bedtime and upon waking up (usually). It's hard to put into practice, and as a high schooler, no amount of discipline can stop the occasional late night.
But anyways, my suggestion is you get into a regular sleep pattern. Sleep at night at the same time and take a nap at the same time.
I don't usually think, therefore I mostly am not.

Likewise, you cant teach some one who looks for facts to have faith in the absence of facts.

You also have more vivid dreams and better recall and a higher chance of lucidity.
