How Much Sleep Do You Get?

My normal sleeping pattern is bed by 10pm and up at 5:40. Taking 20 mins off for falling asleep I'm getting about 7hrs 15mins. I'd like to have 8 but work & family commitment make that difficult. A minimum of 8hrs is recommend so maybe I need to readjust if I'm serious about LD.

I'd be interested to know what's the average sleeping hours for others?

I usually get about 10-12 hours on these summer nights. When I go back to school it will be around 5-7. Ugh.

I average eight hours most nights, but really had to work for that, as my habits used to be all over the place, and I had terrible insomnia. I regulated my sleep cycle using Melatonin, 1 mg, and if that isn't enough to get me to sleep I also take a capsule of Valerian Root. I won't take sleeping drugs though. Melatonin is a chemical the body produces naturally, but if you have insomnia a lot, probably not enough. So I take a tablet of it that comes from cherries. The Valerian Root is an herb that helps you fall asleep and also relaxes muscles. I love getting eight hours of sleep! I function a lot better during the day as a result.

I usually go to bed at 9:30 and wake up at 6 on school days, but weekends vary. Often, it takes me at least half an hour to fall asleep though. About 10 hours on the weekend. I like sleep . 2 years ago, I slept for 13 hours, and I didn't have a whacky schedule or anything.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

School nights I usually sleep 6-7 hours. Weeknights are around 9-10 hours. Going with 7 average, I guess.

My anxiety is out of control which means I'm sleeping anywhere from 12-15 hours a day on most days.
As soon as the anxiety evens out I'll start getting my usual 6-8 hours.

It will take me awhile before I get to that point though unless I finally grow a brain and stop over compensating. On good days I'll force myself to stay up for 2-3 days then crash for almost 24 hours. But that doesn't help my anxiety and neither does it help me obtain a good sleeping pattern.

I seem to be averaging six, which is not enough, and I'm trying to fix that.

Well lets see. I go to sleep roughly around 10-11:30, and wake up around 8, so 8 or 9 on a good night.

      Hi,
I always want to stay in bed in the morning but I cannot sleep any more so I get up. If I am feeling more depressed, I seem to sleep more. I think I need about seven hours a night. I hope you are doing OK.

I try to get 9 hours of sleep by going to bed at 10, but usually I end up getting 7 to 8. On weekends I probably get 9-10 hours, so I guess that would average out to 8. Last summer I got 9.5 hours and I had tons of lucids, although that was probably mostly because I was WBTBing pretty much every night.

I got to bed from 11pm to 7am most of the time, when I really reel the need I go to bed 10pm (Weekdays), so an average of 8h. And during weekends it's just fucked up because of the many events, but I still tend to have about 9 hours.

Angry I can't help being a night owl.

The only reason I get to sleep before midnight is a 05:20 wake up. I need to start forcing myself to sleep and start geting more than five and a half hours a night. On the weekends I go to bed at one and sleep atleast untill 10:00. I get a lot better dream recalls, and sometimes mutiple dreams.

I get about 9 or 10 hours of sleep per night, lately going to bed by 3 am and waking up by noon or 1pm. I'm such a night owl that I'm starting to shift around the clock. None of my attempts to get up earlier have panned out in the long run.

I normally fall asleep around 10:30pm, waking up around 7:15am. I set my alarm every morning for 7:00am, but I'm hopeless at waking up with it, so my parents always end up waking me up at quarter past for school

I try to fall asleep around 11pm-ish and then I usually wake up at 7am when my alarm goes off although I'm noticing I'm waking up at around 6:50am more often. I guess it's because my body is just starting to sync with that time or something.

I always set a minimum of 8, accept in special circumstances. I try to go for 9, but more then 9 or 9 1/2 isn't good either. (over sleeping)

Between 5 and 8 hours during the week, and 6 to 10 during the weekend
It depends on my wake-up time, saturday around 12 and sunday my mom wakes me up at 10 for breakfast..

About 6 hours, tops, during the week. Trying to increase that, but homework is getting in the way.

i sleep on average 8 hours per night. i'm a bit of a night owl and i have a hard time going to sleep before 10, no matter how tired i am. then i have to wake up around 6:30-ish and get ready for work. if it's the weekend, i can sleep anywhere from 8 to almost 12 hours, depending on how much sleep i need to catch up on.

      i miss sleeping in mmm.
the news reports on the radio said it was getting worse
as the ocean air fanned the flames
but i couldn't think of anywhere i would have rather been
