Sleeping Disorder that CAUSES Lucid Dreams?

Have you ever heard of a alpha-delta sleep disorder? Search it if you haven't but basically:

In the middle of restorative or deep sleep (delta) you get alpha waves which is when you are "awake" but "out of it" (beta waves would be up and walking around with eyes open, alpha is different). The only problem is that these people usually have fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue or something. But if they get "awake" waves during deep sleep, do you think they get it during REM, too? A friend of mine thinks so...

What are your thoughts? I appreciate all insights on this but if you can, tell me what you know scientifically or factually based if you can and a website, Thanks

It comes at a price though. Imagine being so tired, no.... um... exhausted during the day that you function at 50% of a normal person, and that's on a rare, good day...

I never heard of this disorder, but the brainwaves that occur during REM sleep (beta), are active almost as if we were awake. My REM tutorial explains it a little bit. Also, being "lucid" involves activating different parts of the prefrontal cortex. The Dorsolateral, to be more specific. Again, I wrote a tutorial on it, called "Dream Logic". They're in my signature.

I also hear that people who are apparently easily hypnotized tend to have lucid dreams all the time, however, they sometimes think it is normal to lucid dream.

I guess if you are more tired than most people, and it's hard to remember what happened during the day, it'd be even more hard to remember abstract dreams, don't you think?

      Hello Friends.....

Sleep disorders are not generally associated with lucid dreaming. I hope that puts your mind at rest. However, as explorers of the dream world, it is often useful to understand more about the sleeping brain and how it works.

The more you know about sleep cycles, the process of REM sleep, and the varying degrees of consciousness - the better. The following articles aim to reveal more about the nature of consciousness while we sleep.

      Thanks
