      You Tube glitch

Anyone ever have a problem with You Tube vids, where only the first 2 seconds of the vid will play, and then it just freezes? All of the vids I've tried to watch in the past few minutes have done that, an it's not the first time.

Probably the user started the upload or encoding process and then lost the connection. I notice that with some videos too.

Kind of ironic, I was trying to watch one of your videos in the "Ridiculous Bass" thread and this kept happening to me. I have no idea how to fix it either.

recently youtube's altered how it caches video
(you may have noticed in the last few weeks, it adds your location in the address - for me, everything now starts with http://uk.youtube.com)

this is designed to speed up the majority of videos
however there's a few teething problems at the moment

If a video is uploaded in america (say http://nyc.youtube.com)
and no-one from my area has viewed it
I have to stream it directly from the nyc server (slow, frequent buffering issues)
however, once I have it, the video is cached on the UK servers, and anyone after me will stream it from the local cache (much faster)

Never had that problem, but I do occasionally get the problem where the pages would take really long to load, not good if I'm just trying to quickly flip through vids.

Happens when the video you're trying to watch is on a slow/overloaded server. The buffer runs out repeatedly.

That's not it. The problem will happen every time you try to play a particular video. Moreover, you can skip to a later time in that video, say 1:30, and it will play correctly up to 1:32.

The problem is usually fixed by restarting the browser.

Yeah, I've had this problem. It's annoying because once one does it, they ALL do it.

But yeah, restart the browser. Works.

I have problems uploading to YouTube sometimes too - it'll get to a certain point and then goes to the "Page Cannot Be Displayed" page. Then I have to start all over again. I don't know if its because I'm running a wireless connection and there is a connection issue, or if its a problem on YouTube's end.

but yeah, I have the freezing issue with it all the time too.

I've had this same problem with youtube too from time to time. It just goes away after a while, I guess. Or maybe a reboot will do.
