      My Problem with WILD

I've tried WILD a few times but what happens is this...i get into bed, lie perfectly still, focus on the inside of my eyes, try not to think and...next thing i know i'm waking up the next morning wondering what went wrong!

      Please help

Just keep practicing. I've always thought it's better to fail a WILD by falling asleep, then it is to fail by staying awake. If you keep falling asleep then at least you're on the right track. Little by little, make harder efforts to stay "awake", eventually you'll find that balance. Good luck buddy.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

Practice truly does make perfect. Maybe try focusing on your breathing instead. Or whatever you think would work for you better.

The problem is your not getting any pre-sleep. WILD is made in the pre-sleep! If you don' pre-sleep you mine as well just try WILDing standing up. In other words, it's hard as hell!

Sleep for 5.5 hours (you'll wake up in REM) then get up. You'll want to stay awake for at least an hour and a half after that, but no more than 3, so your brain enters the 'Alpha' state. Also, it'll probably be harder for you to fall asleep on accident when you do it like this.

After you've woken up for a while, go in bed and just relax. Focus on releasing tension, and once you've gotten comfortable, lay on your back without moving a MUSCLE! Since your brain is ready for REM, but your mind is in Alpha, you should enter paralysis much easier.

Hope this helps you, and never try to do this without pre-sleep lol

We PMed but I'll reply anyways. In my experience, I don't think it has any correlation.

Sorry, but when you said this I couldn't help but laugh, I just pictured someone lying in bed and their arms suddenly start flailing lol

I'm pretty sure it means you close to SP, I'm not quite sure tho

There is a relation in my opinion. When your arms, legs, whatever are twitching. You are VERY close to actual sleep. This is the phase where you are having them really crazy thoughts and sort of pre-dreaming.

One successful way i have found to capitalize this state, is to have a song in your head. Annoying yeah, but its effective because having a song in your head is hard NOT to focus on.

Every single WILD i have had, i have had a song or something in my head. Just as you enter SP it will be like someone has cranked the volume to 11.

Everyone is different, but by exploring all options you will eventually get there. Dont give up, and dont try too hard. Just relax... Good luck!
