      music used for WILD question

i have been told and time and again that when WILDing you must keep your mind active enough to keep awake while relaxing the body enough to make it fall asleep, so i had a thought i wanted to share in the form of a question...

i've heard that repeating song lyrics and such can help keep the mind awake and put the body to sleep, but...could this be adapted so that you actually listen to music while falling asleep? only using songs you know all the lyrics to, is it possible to keep the mind awake by mentally singing along to a playlist while going to bed in order to induce a WILD? i don't know if this would keep you from entering the dreamstate after the body falls asleep by keeping the mind overly engaged, if it would help keep you lucid while in the dream (hearing the song in the dream to kind of remind yourself this is a dream), or if it would not allow enough relaxation to allow your body to fall asleep at all. any thoughts, opinions, or experiences would be welcome! =]

I think Mzzkc made a topic about this. I probably spelled his name wrong so I apologize. He said that you can WILD using music, but in his case, the music carried over into his dream and really distracted him from doing stuff. So yeah, I suppose you can.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

I tried to WILD with music once, and I was successful because I kept envisioning a scene to the music. But it carried over into my dream and was very distorted and almost frightening. I don't recommend it, unless you don't mind (possibly) loud background noise.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

i've been trying to experiment 2 different ways (but for both i fell back asleep too fast so far). one is to play a set of songs that i know most or all of the lyrics to and play it for an hour as i am falling back asleep so it gives me something to focus on by singing in my head. i also have the soundtrack score for "Inception" and when i listen to it i feel like i am in a trance kinda, and i heard trance states help in getting to lucidity. i listen to the soundtrack with headphones and the playlist just through the speakers. i just need to find a way to maintain consciousness until going into the dreamstate.
