      Was this normal?

I took an afternoon nap, usually i cant fall asleep very well. anyways i was just sitting completely still on my back. I mean laying on my back and i was listening to the "Ultimate lucid dream induction" mp3. Just looping it. And i was just counting Suddenly after about 20 minutes my heart started to beat extremely fast and i could feel something like in my head. It felt like a heart attack. Is this normal Sleep paralysis before a LD. ive never LD'd b4.
i was trying to wild ive never done it before

Sometimes during SP, your heart rate will become faster. And taking from my own experiences, you might feel a presence in the room, or you might feel like something in your head has been switched on and suddenly you're in full paralysis.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Puffin sums it up good, but i would like to add, that if it feels like an actualy heart attack, and not just SP, don't continue. Stop, and consult a doctor before you try again.

Definitely, if you feel a huge pain in your chest and feel like you can't catch your breath (or whatever the heart attack symptoms are)... Call 911, don't sit there thinking it's SP.

I wouldn't worry too much unless there was actually severe pain. I have found that sometimes when I get to a certain point while trying to WILD it feels like my heart is racing and about to burst out of my chest. For whatever reason I never go into SP if this happens. None of my successful WILDs have involved this sensation.

I've felt it before, and it does feel wierd. But, well, sometimes it's just a part of SP. Not much you can do.

Freaky, but normal. You can get some real bizarre and convincing sensations when you are transitioning to a dream. Just try to relax through it.

I've felt someone stroking my back and massaging me! Not pleasant, and I almost feel violated if I hallucinate people doing that stuff to me. But it's easy to ignore once you get used to it.
