      Lightbulb Sleep Paralysis???

When I try to wild I get to the point where I feel like I'm in the middle of no where and my muscles twitch slightly. My heart starts beating really quick and my eyelids have a sort of twitchy fit. They flutter like I'm battling to keep them closed but I'm not doing anything. I relaxed the twitches for a second before but all the feelings still go away. How do I let the sp run it's course?

      Hi Klenoa,
I was just wondering, are you using WBTB (Wake Back To Bed), where you set an alarm around 4-7 hours into your sleep so that you can attempt a WILD during an REM period. Because whenever I tried to have a WILD in the evening before sleeping I would have the same experience that you had. My eyes would twitch like crazy and I would feel a pulling force like falling, but it would fade away as soon as I relaxed. I heard that having a WILD in the evening before sleep is possible but very difficult. It's much easier and more successful to set an alarm for an REM period or have a nap in the early afternoon after lunch. This is a rough guide to help choose an alarm time for REM.
      Hope this helps,
      Mark

I try to wild before falling asleep. And thanks I'll try doing this wbtb thing. I don't have an alarm that shuts off though. Any suggestions of what I could use? Like an app or something.

Well trying to wild before a wbtb is incredibly hard. I would highly suggest trying to sleep for several hours. But a couple ways to wake up is to drink something before bed. Enough where you'll know you'll need to go to bathroom later. Or try having a light on, on the opposite side of the normal way you fall asleep. I've used this idea before. Basically at night when you toss and turn, you'll see that through your closed eyes and wake up. It wakes you up right after a rem cycle since a little light normally won't wake you up.

Hey, glad I could give some helpful advice! Basically with WBTB you can use a normal alarm since the idea is you get up for a while before trying to have a lucid dream. If you're trying a WILD then you don't need to be up for long, just long enough (maybe 2 minutes) so that you don't accidentally fall straight asleep and fail the attempt. Normally when I get up I just spend a few minutes making sure I'm comfortable, Like getting a drink, going to the bathroom etc. also I shut my window or put on a shirt if i wake up too cold. Then hopefully you'll have a successful WILD attempt. The other method that jmanjohn (hey dude!) mentioned, is more like a DEILD (dream exit) attempt where you try to awaken after a dream without moving and go straight to sleep paralysis. this is a very effective method but it can be tricky to train yourself to recognise as soon as you wake up. It sounds like you've had experience with this method before maybe, since you mentioned the alarm. Theres a tutorial by the user Crazyinsane called "Can-Wild" which explains all about alarms. Personally when i use an alarm for DEILD I use my phone and I have an mp3 that has a very short noise 2-3 seconds long, and then about 1 minute of silence. that way the phone only plays a very short sound and then goes silent for the rest of the alarm. I also had to turn off vibrate and snooze (or set it to 60 mins etc) so the alarm only goes once.
      Glad I could help!

PS. let me know if you want the Mp3

The best time is during an REM period of sleep. You can use this chart as a rough guideline to what time, It varies from person to person but usually 4 1/2 - 7 hours into sleep can be successful.

Thanks for the help guys I'll be trying out that chart wildrider. thanks for that lol. I'll keep trying before bed too, just in case I get lucky. I won't need the mp3 though. I'll try downloading some kind of light song for my alarm. Just enough to wake me but also calming enough to fall asleep to ya know.. I'm just so groggy in the morning. Any tips on waking up easier without really 'waking up'?

I have never used binaural beats before but I'd guess it depends on what you're using them for. I heard some people listen to them after WBTB during a WILD attempt to go subconscious faster. But people also use them to help them fall asleep by listening just before bedtime if you want to fall asleep quickly for a MILD etc. I might try experimenting with both ideas it sounds pretty cool!

Wow! Awesome Klenoa Would you mind explaining in detail? I want to know what method worked out for you. What happened when you weren't fully conscious? I've never used binaural beats before but it sounds really interesting. I need to know everything!

I didn't use a binaural beat since I konked out at like 10 o'clock. I usually listen to them on YouTube for a few minutes to relax just before bed. So I go to sleep and I my alarm wakes me up at 6 am. I had to move a bit to turn it off but I was still out of it. I lay back down and.. I guess I was aware when I fell asleep but it was really fuzzy like I was but I can't remember anything up until my dream started. I do remember thinking about things and ten the dream faded into view. Like I said, I wasn't really conscious. More like i was watching it. Then for the last 5 minutes or so I woke up a bit in my mind and I could feel and hear and everything. That's when I took control of my body in the dream. I didn't think about changing the scene or anything ^^. I'll try again tomorrow. Wish me luck

      Hi Klenoa,

What I do is go to sleep around 10 pm then set my alarm for waking me up at around 2am. I stay up for about an hour, then set my Lucid Dream Alarm Clock to wake me up every 8,25,8,25,8,25 min....etc. Here is where you can get your own lucid dream alarm clock Download The Lucid Dreaming Flash Timer & MP3s To Induce OBEs

      Good Luck
