      WBTB Failure

I didn't want to hijack a thread, so I created my own.

Essentially, I am stuck in the early phases of WILDing.

I attempted to WILD last night. I went to bed about 1ish, and I set my alarm to go off at 5:30 (about 30 minutes to try to sleep and 4 hours to sleep). I woke up after a pretty strange nightmare, got water, walked around a bit, and attempted to WILD. I fell asleep amid counting ("1" "I'm Dreaming..." "2" "I'm dreaming..." etc.). Any ideas on what I can do here? I really want to WILD.

Attempted to WILD again last night after a WBTB. I counted to 40 "I'm dreaming..." before I lost consciousness. I felt a few vibrations, but nothing significant. Frustrating...

You probably just didn't wake up enough during the WBTB. Try staying up longer.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I did notice I was exhausted still after about 5 minutes. I'll try to log online and read some stuff next time. Thanks!

Adding a naptime failure. I did the flex relax, and began counting. I got fairly far in the counting before I drifted off to sleep. I can't really remember any dreams, but I woke up still "paralyzed" in a sense. Once I felt a cat nudge me, I realized I had sensations. I woke up more and my face and arms felt numb. Nothing more.

Gonna try again tonight in a WBTB. Not giving up.

It's all about finding the right amount of time to stay up, and when to wake up. I respect you for not giving up, I'm still trying to get my first WILD as well.

Yeah, 30 minutes was WAY too long as I was wide awake when I tried to sleep, and waking with an alarm seems to screw up my REM clock.

      Good luck.

*Bangs Head* Well, I woke up naturally and via one alarm about 4 times last night. The first time I can remember was via alarm. I woke up, used the bathroom, tried to remember my dreams (I recall none from last night, but I know I had some), then I attempted to WILD. I didn't get far before falling asleep. Woke up a few times after, and same thing. Tried to WILD again, and fell asleep.

      =(
