how long is the average WILD attempt

so i'v been thinking of trying to do a WILD attempt, but I am still in school so i'm worried about taking too much time out of my sleep

because of this i would like to know how long does it usually take for you to WILD so i can judge if i can spare the time

If you get good at it, it shouldn't take long. But if you're only getting started, I'd suggest only doing it on weekends and such.

It can take anywhere from 20 minutes to many hours, if you have the patients.

I find I feel somewhat groggy after a wild attempt as if I was sleeping,
even though my mind was awake the whole time. The body is asleep
so I think you get a little rest while WILDing

Sure, your body gets rest but I don't think it counts as actual sleep.

oh of course not. But it can be more than being fully awake.

I get a little bit rested attempting a WILD where you get nothing being awake.

I get what you're saying. Yes, you should be getting a little rest since your brainwaves are lower than if you were awake, but certainly not as much as you get during N-REM sleep.

To answer your question, my WILD attempts take around 15-20 minutes from the point I wake up to the point I start separating into my dream body. My first WILD took around 15 seconds, but that's a rare occurrence. In fact, that might have qualified as a DIELD, but they're essentially the same thing.

I've gotten my WILD attempts down to about 30 minutes until I go into the pre-sp stage.
