Difficulties Going Past Sleep Paralysis when WILDING

I've been trying to WILD every night for the past month+. Last night I tried WILDing as I went to bed, then I tried WBTBing after I woke up about 3 hours after falling asleep. Or that was the plan. I set 2 alarms. One for 3 hours after I went to bed. And another 2 and a half hours after that. I laid back, got comfortable, starting my attempt. Long story short, my body went into SP, but I didn't get to the HI/HH stage. After awhile, I would roll over. I'm not talking every 10 to 15 minutes, like after 45 minutes I would roll over just because, after that long I'm thinking F-it.
But I can't fall asleep. Even when I give up, I start out tired and comfy, but as I start drifting off to sleep I become aware every time SP starts setting in. It's like now that I recognize the signs of SP, I become hyperaware of them, awakening my conscious mind and preventing sleep.

This has continued for many weeks. It's starting to interfere with normal sleep.

I laid in bed trying to fall asleep but becoming fully conscious when SP set in all the way up until the first alarm went off. I got up, turned off the alarm. Went back to bed and finally I fell asleep.

The second alarm woke me around 3:45am. So now I'd been asleep for a little over 2 hours. Immediately I roll over and my body WHAM goes into full blown SP and I can feel it, maaaan I can f'n feeel it. Not this partial shite I'd normally feel while trying to WILD. I start to see faint, very very very faint glowy lines over my eyelids. Nothing heavy like I'd associate with a hallucination, just normally what happens when I get close to sleep. No weird sounds or sensations. But I am trying to stay aware of my anchor, which is feeling my body comfortably sinking into my bed.

The SP was so intense. I figured of any times I could have WILDed this would have been it. But again same problem. Even as my mind started into sleep, it's like, remembering my anchor made me come awake. Or awareness of an anchor let other awareness spill in, the awareness of SP perhaps, I don't know. At first I lay in bed for about 10 minutes seemingly coming more and more awake, then eventually just fell into full blown sleep until morning.

      Ugh.
What says you all? Similar experiences?

EDIT: Topic typo- "Passed" I believe I meant...

You just need to get used to SP. That way when SP sets in, you can just act as if nothing unusual is happening. You almost ignore the SP and just continue to work toward sleep. During your WBTBs, don't stay up very long before attempting the WILD. Make sure you are using an anchor that doesn't keep you awake. If you can't fall asleep, you can't dream. Just try not to worry about any part of the process and just try to fall asleep while staying conscious. Maybe you are over complicating things and trying too hard. Just be relaxed in mind and body during your attempts. Don't stress yourself over WILDing, or it will be difficult to succeed. I you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Unhappy I have a similar problem

Every time I have tried to WILD (it's been three times just today) I listen to Shimmering Gossamer Binaural Beats, and I lay down in a comfortable position. I see light patterns and some stars, and SP kicks in. It only seems to really concentrate on my left leg, but that could be a different thing happening. (I do have occasional leg and knee problems) I never once have had HH/HI other than occasional crashing sounds in the background and a small sensation of floating. After this, my SP seems to suddenly fade and I wake up, thinking I might be having a false awakening.

What could be causing these SP problems, I wonder?

Your simply not falling asleep. You can following the technique perfectly, but if you aren't able to fall asleep, you aren't going to be successful. You are getting to the early stages of SP and from there you just need to fall into t a deeper and deeper state of relaxation. You just need to finish falling asleep.

Thanks, Yoshi! I'll be trying again in a little while, so I'll keep that in mind.
