      Problem getting into SP and to WILD

      I have had a couple of DILDs.. and since i had very little control over my DILDs... i have been trying WILD for the past few days in the hope of obtaining the skill of having LD at will!
      This is what happens to me... For a couple of minutes(3-5min) i lay down and relax... sometimes i focus on the sound of the ceiling fan or on my breath...
      After this, i notice a distinct heavy feeling in my legs.... my breathing becomes more relaxed... and soon my p***s relaxes and have some involuntary contractions in my forehead... it is hard to explain.. it feels as one would if he were to press his eyes really hard....
      What happens after this is varied:

      Yesterday i felt some strange wavy feeling ... man i thought i was very close to have a WILD...
      Sometimes i notice distinct increase in darkness... as if somebody switched off the lights and the darkness increased further
      And sometimes i feel a very strange force pulling me towards something...

      It is obvious that i am close to getting an SP... but here is my problem:
      As soon as i think that i am going into a dream... i try to concentrate on whats happening inside my eyes.... BUT as soon as i hear a noise from the outside world no matter how soft.. i instantly become aware of my surroundings, i.e the room in which i am sleeping AND I AM WIDE AWAKE.. as if i have just woken up after a good night's sleep. Just to be sure.. i even do RC sometimes but no luck

      How do i deal with this problem? And when u first lie down on the bed.. it is obvious that u will be aware of your body and the surroundings... at wat point do u detach from the external world and are totally inside your dream?

      Once you get to SP, you should repeat a mantra in your head, for example "I am dreaming", or "I am in a lucid dream". Try not to strain your mind while doing it though; allow your mind to relax to the point where you fall asleep. And try to not to get too excited or too anxious, or too much of any emotion that could wake you up. As you do the mantra, instead of doubting or questioning whether it will work, expect it to work, and expect to fall asleep and be lucid.

      If outside noises are a problem during SP, you can fix it by simply wearing earplugs.
      Once you enter SP, begin reminding yourself that you are dreaming. Forget about your physical body and ignore the sleep paralysis hallucinations as much as you can. Then, passively visualize a dream scene around you and imagine yourself in it. Imagine how the ground feels to be standing on, imagine wind blowing against you, or even imagine yourself walking around and touching things in the scene - tactile sensations can help speed up the WILD process.

      Once the dream fully encapsulates you and you're no longer aware of your physical body, you can then explore the dream.

      There are two more possible results - either the WILD attempt won't take because you were too focused on the SP or overexcited (in this case the SP will stop and you'll find yourself back in bed), or you will enter a false awakening - the SP will stop here, too, and you'll find yourself believing you've failed the WILD. But if you think you've failed it, be sure to do a couple reality checks to make sure - there's no telling if or when you'll enter a FA.
      We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
      some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      Thanks for the help guyz..

      @Shockwave
      I tried the mantra for the past two days.. it helped me a lot from getting distracted as it kept me focussed on chanting the mantra...

      @Puffing
      About the outside noise issue.. i live in a hostel which is close to a busy road. If i try to WILD when i go to sleep(around 4 am) i am distracted by the ocassional vehicles on the road(they sound louder at night) or during the day(at abt 3pm) ppl talking outside my room.

      I tried not focussing on the sounds but kind of being in the moment and letting go and relax if u can understand what i mean...

      But my main problem as i have mentioned is.. after some time after i attempt to WILD.. i suddenly become selfconscious as to whether i am in SP or WILD and try to test. This is when i become aware of my body and i fail..

      i hope Shockwave suggestion of repeating the mantra constantly will stop me from the above problem...

      Tell me one thing though... when u enter SP, are u literally paralysed as in, if u conciously try to move your leg and you can't... OR is it more like you feel really heavy and you know you can if you want to but dont

      Because i am not sure if i go to SP properly and i dont know how to check it..
      After some time my legs feel really heavy and go numb but my hands and upper body are relatively free...
