pushing past the violent heartbeat when WILDing?

So I tried to W.I.L.D. last night after not trying to lucid dream for about 2 weeks. I got to sleep paralysis fine but I hit a wall when all the hallucinations happened. At first I noticed that the sound of my fan started to become distant, and then my heart rate went through the roof. I was expecting these things to happen, but I just couldn't push past them. after about a minute or so my heart slowed down and the sound of my fan came back. I wasn't able to get back to that spot for the rest of the night.

So, any tips to pushing past that part?

As for your problem, Chemicaledge, try not to focus on anything in particular. Just let the images, sounds, and thoughts you're having during SP just drift in and out.

just try not to think about it, focus on the goal of lucid dreaming, don't focus on the external things, you will do it eventually
