      I'm planning on WILDing tonight

Okay, so tomorrow I don't have anything to do and I can sleep in.
Anyone have any ideas on a really good WILDing method and when to do it/WBTB etc?

There are so many WILDing methods out there I don't know which one to try.
Also, sometimes when my alarm goes off for WBTB, I end up falling back to sleep again.
Do you think a good idea for that is to like put my phone (alarm) somewhere across the room so I have to get up and turn it off?

WILDing is really co-dependent on the person. There are techniques all over the place but you have to do trial and error to find out what works for you. Just read up on all the different techniques and get the basics.

A few things that are important regardless of any guide are probably:
      • Be awake enough to know you want fall asleep as you're trying to WILD
      • Don't be afraid of SP, it's all harmless
      • Don't focus too much on any specific image, thought, or sound in SP

      Good luck to you!

Yeah, just try whatever technique you think you will be most comfortable with. It is a really good idea to have your alarm out of arms reach. That way you won't be tempted to just turn it off mindlessly and go back to sleep. I suggest setting the alarm several time throughout the night, so you get more than one chance at it. I like to set mine for after 4 hours of sleep, after 6 hours, and after 8 hours. Good luck to you and stay confident. Expect to succeed and you will !

      Thanks for the help guys!
Also, I tried WILDing last night. I was pretty relaxed. Just waiting for something. Anything.
But I kept laying there and it seemed like forever; and I lost consciousness.
      Why does this happen?

Well, it happens because you have spent your whole life losing consciousness and falling asleep normally. It takes some practice to break that habit. If you find yourself laying awake for long periods of time, you simply aren't falling asleep. You really want to tiptoe the line between consciousness and unconsciousness. Its not an easy thing to do if you don't have much experience with it. Just keep practicing and build your experience. Try to learn from each attempt and don't get frustrated, you are not alone.

Waiting for something to happen is counterproductive. Allow yourself to fall asleep, but try your best to direct your attention to some other topic. Mental exercises are helpful in that respect, as are external anchors.
