Question Cant get past SP when wilding.

My heart pounds, wave of exilaration crashes into me sending my body spinning.

After a while SP started to fade I sat up in Anticipation of me being in a dream.
Did some RCs With negative results.

What should you do during SP?

Edit: I realised this should be in the wilding section.

Do not focus! One of the main problems I read about when it comes to SP is that people can't get into the dreamstate. This is usually because they are focusing too hard on SP, the different stages of SP, and / or outside commotion. You have to let your mind drift and not worry about getting into a dream. It's not magic where you just lay there and can magically end up in a dream. Next time your trying to WILD, just let your brain unwind. If you're pretty sure you're in SP, try coming up with a dream scene and you should end up being inside it.

Concentrating on sleep paralysis will most certainly make you hyper-aware. This will have a negative effect on the natural sleep process. I have always felt there is too much emphasis on SP in these online forums.

Hey guise, same problem here. I think i had a near-WILD experience last night from waking state. It was past my normal bedtime by about two hours, i meditated for a few minutes then hopped in bed and put my body into SP. After that, i just concentrated on my breathing, after a minute or two of that, my breathing became shallower and i was seeing images in the back of my eyelids. I then experienced a quick sucking sensation into a dream, but very shortly after, i came back into my waking body. I RC'd to make sure i wasn't FA'ing, then just settled on going to sleep.

      Any advice is helpful

The best way I can put it is... Keep your mind in the void don't think about what's happening too much, it's still good to think a little so you can stay conscious, let the thoughts roll out of your mind, and do not let your mind 'talk' don't say things to yourself while your trying to lucid. Actually if you are doing a WBTB then right when you get back into bed put some thoughts in your head like 'Next time I see something I'm lucid' 'Next time my eyes open I'll do a reality check' say a few things 5 times each and then you just have to relax and go along for the ride.

Stay still, and just enjoy the feeling. Sometimes you just CAN'T get into a lucid period. Just try it another day and it will work eventually.

      Moved to the WILD section

really one of the only things you can do, is don't get caught up with the SP, don't get too involved with it, just be and let everything happen without being too consumed in it. KNOW you will be in a dream soon.

do you move? if you think too much that can also cause it to fail.

From what I've read, yes. You just let your mind continue to drift through thoughts and eventually you start trying to come up with a dream scene.

Sometimes you will bounce in and out of hallucinations, vibrations, and SP a few times before you can successfully enter a dream. Don't give up if it ends suddenly. Just keep doing what you were doing, and you will experience it again.

Once you get to the point you have described, you just need to enter the dream. Try to focus on your daydream-like thoughts, letting them become more real than your real surroundings. You want to forget about your body lying in bed, and create a new body in a new world. Just follow your stray thoughts and let them develop into a full dream.

If you need to push yourself a bit, try remembering a recent and vivid memory. Remember how it felt to interact with the physical world. Move, touch things, ect. Let the memory take over and become your new reality.

Oo, as i got into sp last night, i tried the phantom wiggling, and listening in.. At one point, i felt my dream body but it went away shortly as I got distracted by sounds of my mum playing with my dog. Can anyone please explain what straining the brain is?
