Sleep Paralysis- Did I do it?

About an hour ago, I was trying to fall asleep and I also had calm binaural beats in the background. I was flat on my back and I was totally still just looking into the blackness while closing my eyes. I couldnt see any clear hypnagogic patterns but there was like boxes growing bigger and it kept repeating a square growing until i ccouldnt see anything but then i saw a quick flash of light!? I didnt feel any vibrations or noises or anything like that.

My brother then knocked so loud on the door that i had to get up

but... I tried and it was really hard and i kept shaking, also, i got up starting with my head then my arms then stomach then legs then feet because it was so hard to get up and when i eventually did, I was shaking all over!

I opened the door for my brother but I wanted to make sure I wasnt in a dream so I did a few reality checks but they didnt work and neither did flying so i was sure i wasnt dreaming. Did I enter sleep paralysis?

You were definitely at the hypagogic imagery stage, which usually occurs close to, or with, sleep paralysis. It's hard to know if you were in SP or not, since you didn't try to move when you saw that light (I too have seen a bright white light in the corner of my vision before, but I wasn't yet in SP). If you do ever experience HI and aren't sure if you're in SP, don't go moving around and testing to confirm whether you're paralyzed, though.

Keep relaxing and passively observing the HI and sensations that may come with the SP, and you'll then be in a dream.

You were close, sleep paralysis or not! Keep it up!

Update:
I tried it again today and I got a few vibrations, my body went numb, my mouth went dry and I had a big shock through my back. My hands felt like they were floating on air :L
