Tips on staying awake for wilds

What are some things you guys do to not fall asleep when attempting to wild?
I heard from some people that these will help:
      Count your breaths
Cause some physical discomfort (like placing a marble under you while you sleep so you can feel it)
      Count to 100
Listen to something going on in the background (such as fans)

Any other tips to add to the list?
I was so much older then, I'm younger then that now.

Instead of actually causing physical discomfort (which I'm assuming may put too much attention on your real body), maybe one could imagine a marble underneath them. That way, you're thinking more of your imaginary, or dream body, which might help to speed up the SP process.

Listening to your heartbeat helps too.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Keep your mind busy. That's all there is to it.

I completely forgot about counting breaths. That's how I used to always WILD damn near 100% of the time. ANd haven't been able to do it now cause I forgot about that tip. Thanks!

I stopped trying to WILD a while ago but here's a couple of things I wanted to try but never did:

Push your head against the headboard of the bed. Stay aware of the pressure.

Let your feet dangle over the bottom of the bed just the right amount to cause a small amount of discomfort.

Imagine yourself typing "Am I dreaming" repeatedly on a keyboard. (Probably would work better if you can touchtype?)
