Having some trouble with the WILD technique.

Hello everyone. I am new here to the forums.

Recently, I have learned about Lucid Dreaming from watching an episode of American Dad when Steve Smith had a lucid dream and was telling his fish about it. I was interested in this and decided to look up some tutorials. Alas, none of them seem to work.

I looked at a whole bunch of WILD tutorials all over Google. The last tutorial I attempt, was KingYoshi's tutorial.

I will now tell you what I have been doing:

My very first attempt, around 4:30PM, Eastern Standard Time, I listened to some Binaural Beats while relaxing and staying in one position. I kept my eyes open. I thought that was what you were supposed to do at first, silly me.

Skipping to my more recent attempts after that.

I lay in bed, with all my lights off, relaxed in one spot. After about, 5 minutes, my feet begin to feel numb. It feels like I am floating, in a way. Not sure if this is sleep paralysis? Anyways, after a few more minutes, my arms and hands begin to feel numb and vibrate. I picture myself walking through a force field, to keep me relaxed from the tingly vibrations. After I feel relaxed from this, I count, in my head, "One, Am I dreaming, Two, Am I dreaming, Three-" Over and over again. After a few minutes, that didn't seem to work. I constantly picture myself swimming in my friends swimming pool. I read up that this is one way to attain a WILD somewhere here on the forum. I also picture myself walking and I picture my thoughts and what I see as I walk past my neighborhood. And I also pictured myself flying at one point.

There is some noise in my house, there's a clock ticking in my room, every 5 minutes, my clock makes a tick sound, and my roommate has his TV on in the background, but I can barely hear it, and my next door neighbors have ducks and birds that are really annoying, sometimes they chirp and make gobble noises, but this is at night, and periodically, they do so.

(Keep note that I didn't listen to binaural beats at my next 2 attempts, I only listened to it at my first attempt.)

After about, a whole entire hour, I wasn't able to attain a WILD. This is my 3rd attempt at it, and it doesn't seem to work at all! What am I doing wrong?

Are you doing this with a WBTB? If you aren't then I would highly recommend you do so.
Also if you are doing this with a nap, you need to sleep a bit first and then attempt the WILD if you aren't relaxed enough.

Also, is the WILD technique good to try first, or should I try another technique?

It really depends on you. You have to find the right technique that is right for you, but you can't give up on 1 technique after only 1 week of trying.

And yeah, a WBTB is highly recommended in order to WILD. You wake up about 5-7 hours after sleeping (Right before or in the middle of a REM period) and attempt the WILD. Your body will be already very relaxed, and about to go into a dream anyway so that is the perfect time to WILD.

You can read more in my guide if you would like

      Thank you very much!

I think I will try this when I'm about to go to bed.

      Again, thanks for the info.
