      Help w/ WBTB

I can't hold onto consciousness when I do a wake back to bed. I just fall asleep before anything really happens. What could I do to fix this?
My WBTBs are short, about a minute or two. Should I increase the amount of time I stay up?
I was so much older then, I'm younger then that now.

Hi Meta...I shall tell you what I do...If I wake I try to stay as still as possible and think of nothing but lucid dreaming. I have tried getting up for a while and then going back to bed only to find myself too awake lol, so now if I wake I stay in bed and repeat to myself in my mind " 1, I'm lucid dreaming ", " 2, i'm lucid dreaming " and so on..this helps to keep you concious as you are thinking about something, if I lay there and just relaxed I would be back asleep in no time, when I do it this way I begin to enter back into SP and hear the noises and as I do I stay relaxed, remember nothing can hurt me and repeat the mantra, I will then conciously enter a lucid dream, may take you a little while to begin with, but practice and patience will suffice, PM me anytime and good luck, keep trying it's all worth it when you manage it for the first time

Drink a bunch of water right before bed, then you'll have to get up to pee.

you could then try the 61 point relaxation technique. This is what I used to do. I don't feel like looking up the link but if you wanna try it just google it.

I fixed that problem but now its just that I do my WBTB but I feel extremely uncomfortable and end up giving up. Is this just a ruse?

My back just starts to hurt and my legs get restless and it feels like i want to roll over. I read that this could be just a test to see if your mind is asleep. By giving up i just mean that i let myself fall asleep. I still try everynight though

Try cutting back to doing it once or twice a week maybe.

I'd also recommend getting up and stretching.

well being extremely uncomfortable only happened once, but I'm going to try again tonight and make a wbtb a little longer. If it happens again I'll ease up a bit. Thanks for the help.
